Cabañal

Bago ako lumisan
Aking ipininta
Itong bahay na p**a
Sa aming harapan,
Tanaw sa balkonahe
Ang kakaibang delantera
May dekorasyong moldura
Sa taas, gilid at bintana
Gawa sa eskayola.

Iba’t ibang kulay ng tisa
Pinaghirapan at pinagisipan.
Mga dingding ay mosaico
Nakakapatingala sa hanga.
Daang taon na ang lumipas
Itsura’y walang kupas.
Kada sampung metro
May lamparang antigo.
Salitan ang mga punong nakalinya.

Lahat dito’y may balkon.
Iba’t iba ang itsura,
Paligsahan sa ganda.
Dito sila’y nakabakay,
Sa mga dumadaan parada.
Dito kaya natin namana,
Halaga’t saya ng piyesta?

Sa dalawan buwang itinigil,
Di ko nakita kung may tao baga.
Bukas ang bintana
Wala namang masilayan
Maliban sa tatlong halaman
Marami ang mga kapihan
Walang karinderia,
Maganda ang mga mesa
Hinihintay ang paella
Habang nainom ng ce***za.

Sa bawat kanto,
May bangkong maganda.
Mga Pensionada , prenteng prente
Mukhang kay saya-saya.
Kakwentunan ang kapitbahay.
Tinitingnan ang nadaan Filipina.
Alam kaya nila ang ating istorrya?

Just imagine the old days before the camera was invented to record anything. Painters and sculptors were the only ones who captured the scenes in real-time.

Last night, I witnessed a 750 year old tradition in Valencia, the Danza da les Felles.
October 9, 1238, King Jaume I "the Conquistador" made his triumphant entry into the city of València after the peaceful surrender of the Islamic taifa of Balansiya. This date marks the official creation of the Kingdom of València, introducing its own legal framework (Els Furs) and establishing the cultural, political, and linguistic identity of the Valencian people.

There were throngs of people, so I had to sit on a railing barrier while being supported by my dear husband just to capture the real time scene. I was hoping to capture an interesting impression in watercolor. Their faces, clothes, and arms mixed in my eyes. Oh, what a cacophony of colors and sounds!

One of the happiest days of MarLiCa’s life!
