Today, August 21, 2026, is observed as a special non-working holiday in the Philippines — Ninoy Aquino Day.

We commemorate the life and sacrifice of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., a beacon of courage and a symbol of hope for our nation. His unwavering stand for truth, freedom, and democracy continues to inspire generations of Filipinos.

His famous words, “The Filipino is worth dying for,” remind us that the fight for a just and free Philippines was built on the bravery of those who spoke out when others could not.

As we remember his legacy, may we be motivated to uphold the values he died for, and to take pride in the democracy we enjoy today because of his sacrifice.

📜 Buwan ng Kasaysayan 2026 | Tema: "Hinubog ng Bayan, Dinuyan ng Alon" 🌊

Ngayong Agosto, ating ipinagdiriwang ang Buwan ng Kasaysayan bilang pagpupugay sa mayamang pamana ng ating mga ninuno at sa mga pangyayaring humubog sa ating bansa. Ang kasaysayan ay hindi lamang tala ng nakaraan—ito ang salamin ng ating pagkakakilanlan, gabay sa kasalukuyan, at inspirasyon sa pagbuo ng mas matatag na kinabukasan.

Sa pag-alala sa ating mga pinagmulan, mas nauunawaan natin ang kahalagahan ng ating kultura, mga tradisyon, at mga pagpapahalagang Pilipino. Patuloy nating pahalagahan ang kasaysayan sapagkat dito nagsisimula ang pagmamahal sa bayan at ang paghubog ng ating identidad bilang isang nagkakaisang sambayanan.
