𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆, 𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐍, 𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔 | 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔— The 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 officially commenced on Saturday afternoon with a festive opening ceremony that brought together athletes, local officials, organizers, and residents for a celebration of sportsmanship and community spirit.

The festivities began with a Grand Opening Parade at 4:00 PM, as participating teams marched through the streets of Sitio Landing before making their way to the Landing Arena. Upon arrival, each team was formally introduced, marking the start of another season of friendly competition.

Delivering the welcome remarks, Hon. Lowie Butad, Chairman of the Landing Fiesta Executive Committee and Councilor of Barangay Catarman, welcomed the athletes and guests while emphasizing the importance of unity, discipline, and camaraderie through sports.

The ceremonial program continued with the Oath of Sportsmanship, led by Mr. Junrey Talawagon, followed by the Lighting of the Torch, symbolizing the official beginning of this year's games.

The league was formally declared open by Hon. Jessa Salcedo, SK Councilor of Barangay Catarman, who encouraged all participating teams to uphold the values of fair play and respect throughout the tournament.

An inspirational message was then delivered by Hon. Jimmy Maglasang, Councilor of Barangay Catarman, who challenged the athletes to give their best in every game while strengthening friendships within the community.

Adding excitement to the ceremony, organizers held a spontaneous ₱100 Three-Point Challenge, inviting players to test their shooting skills before an enthusiastic crowd.

The opening program concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Virgilio Pilapil, President of the Sta. Cruz Chapel Organization, who expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee, volunteers, sponsors, local officials, and community members whose collective efforts made the event possible.

Serving as masters of ceremonies were Ms. Honey Shen Buladaco, President of the Sta. Cruz-Landing Youth Organization, and Ms. Ariana Mae Cacanog, Reigning Miss Teen Landing.

With the torch officially lit and the league declared open, the Landing Fiesta League 2026 sets the stage for weeks of spirited competition, fostering not only athletic excellence but also stronger ties among the people of Sitio Landing.
