Life is but a mere page inside a book whose chapters are to rekindle the adventures of those that stirred our hearts.

For the publication, they are the wordsmiths, dauntless journalists, and pioneers of integrity that have served as its anchors in recent years. They are the senior writers that shaped ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐€๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ž to its finest.

These people were not just extraordinary writers. More than just bearers of truth, their roles in the publication left inked handprintsโ€”marks of purpose, passion, and dedication in crafting stories that mattered.

As we head on to the next page and embark on a next editorial staff, the spaces these people left do not exist simply to be filled. They become gentle reminders of a legacy worth remembering.

Thank you for your service!

On March 18, 2026, the Ligao National High School Gymnasium became a canvas of memories where history was reclaimed, and a vessel where the past was both honored and rekindled.

As the last output for Contemporary Arts from the Regions, ๐—ฆ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ž๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐˜†๐˜€๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—•๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐—ป: ๐—–๐—ผ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—น๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ presented a series of acts that wove the echoes of history into the present.

The performance highlighted not only their bravery on the battlefield but also the silent sacrifices that left permanent marks on their communities. Many of these names were never recorded in history books, yet their courage and service remain etched in the land they defended.

Beyond the soldiersโ€™ struggle, the play also laid bare the torment endured by women under the brutality of occupationโ€” mothers, daughters, and wives forced to survive in a world ruled by fear, violence, and loss. Their suffering, erased from the dominant narratives of war, is a reminder that the battle for freedom was also endured in homes, in shattered communities, and in the quiet resistance of those who carried unbearable pain yet refused to let even just a glimmer of hope die.

Their voices, long buried beneath the dust of history, rose as unignorable truths: that the cost of war was never paid by soldiers alone. It was carried by the women who endured loss under an occupying force that stripped them of safety and dignity.

Through the story, the past reignites the courage to resist and reclaim freedom.

The performance showcased a dialogue across time, where echoes of sacrifices met the awareness of the present, bridging what was lived, what is felt, and what might yet be imagined.

It was a tribute to the sacrifices that carved the nationโ€™s path to liberty, honoring the enduring courage of those who ignited the struggle for freedom and justice.

While rifles thundered on battlefields, another war unfolded in silenceโ€” fought in the daily struggle to survive, to endure humiliation and terror, and the will of women who refused to let oppression erase their humanity. From that suffering emerged an unbreakable defiance, a strength that preserved their stories within the nationโ€™s memory and within the pursuit of dignity and liberation.

Within the currents of the past, history was more than a story to watch. Rooted in remembrance and reflection, the performances drew power from the courage to carry the lessons of past struggles into the fight for a liberated tomorrow.

Ligao National High School (LNHS) Student Technologists and Entrepreneur of the Philippines (STEP) Club, conducts the STEP-UP Pageant 2026 with the title โ€œSustainability in Action: Shaping Hopes and Dreamsโ€ at the LNHS School Gymnasium on March 17.
โ€‹
โ€œThe reason behind the title is that the TLE aims to have sustainability and good practices, especially when weโ€™re continuing with unlocking the potential of students regarding their life skills,โ€ Reynold Pulvinar, STEP Club Adviser and proponent of the activity, said.

In a separate interview, Club President Jeremy Moises stated that most of the materials used in the pageant are reused and repurposed, and that creativity is more important than new materials.

Pageant Candidates also showcased their creativity with their creative attire being made from recycled materials, made from old DVDs, paper mache, and dried leaves.

Local entrepreneurs like B&G, Blooming Flowers, Personal Collection, Avon, and Vice Mayos Yep David were invited to partner with the Club for the ex*****on of the event, with the intention of creating a link between local shops and the government.

โ€œOne of the goals of the STEP Club is to link local entrepreneurs to the cityโ€ฆ and they were willing to support the students in developing these kinds of activities,โ€ Pulvinar added.

The pageant concluded with the awarding of the candidates and coronation of the new Mr. and Ms. STEP UP.

The LNHS Student Technologists and Entrepreneurs of the Philippines (STEP) Club presented three new Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) specializations for this year's curriculum during their exhibit symposium on March 18 at the school gymnasium.

According to Cristina Aguilar, grade 8 TLE adviser and teacher in charge of the event, the specializations added were woodworking, technical drafting, and illustration.

โ€œThe number of participants increased compared to last year including the Special Program in Arts (SPA) and special program in sports (SPS),โ€ she added.

Christian Jake Juarez, a student from 8-MLQ4 then expressed that the new curriculum was better, now that the specializations were expanded.

โ€œMas masaya pag marami, example, yung iba may ibang gusto na specialization, mas nagkaroon sila ng optionsโ€ Kate Ashley Bonsol, a student from 8-MLQ3 similarly stated.

Overall, the event was then concluded by the process of the basis of sectioning for the next school year which was explained by Aguilar.

The process includes the collection of the chosen specializations of the students listed in a piece of paper at the end of every batch, collected by the subject teachers which then will be passed to the grade 9 curriculum chairman.

In celebration of National Arts Month, the Grade 8 Culminating Activity in MAPEH highlighted the regional folk dances held on March 17, 2026, at the Ligao City Gymnasium.

According to Grace Salvador, event coordinator, this yearโ€™s changes aimed to enlighten students regarding Filipino culture through dancing to different regional folk dances.

โ€œLast year, there was only one dance, Sua-Ku-Sua. Now, there is a variety of folk dances because we have a new curriculum this school year,โ€ added Salvador.

The performances featured regional folk dances, including Lapay Bantigue from Masbate, Sinakiki from Rapu-Rapu, Pastores from Camalig, Pantomina de Albay from Albay, Sarung Banggi from Legazpi, and Esperanza from Camarines Sur.

Salvador discussed that the folk dances were chosen in order for students to value culture in modern times due to being overlooked by popular dances like Cariรฑosa.

Furthermore, 8-RD1โ€™s performance of Sinakiki was titled as champion, obtaining a score of 95.5 percent.

Wilmar Benedict Paradero, leader of the 8-RD1, shared his moments during the activity, mentioning how doubtful they were to win the champion title again.

โ€œThe biggest challenge we faced was the attendance and availability of each student. During our practices, we were not able to achieve full attendance,โ€ Paradero explained.

He then shared a message for future students about their folk dance, โ€œIf you ever feel anxious, always think you will do great, and the nervousness will pass.โ€

With vibrant oil pastels in one hand and glossy nail polish in the other, students of Ligao National High School (LNHS) once again painted a bright future during the skills competition held for Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Week, showcasing mastery not just in skills but also art.

The LNHS Student Technologists and Entrepreneurs of the Philippines (STEP) Cl
ub opened an avenue for students to explore, enhance, and foster skills in art through a Poster Making and Nail Care competition on March 16, 2026, as part of the LNHS STEP UP 4.0, with the theme of โ€˜Sustainability in Action: Shaping Hopes and Dreams.โ€™

Keeping with the theme, the studentsโ€™ capabilities from their specializations were not only assessed, but it also opened doors for their peers to uncover potential interests in different fields.

๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—œ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ
During the event, students brought their imaginations to life through various mediums, from carefully blended poster colors to meticulously polished nails. These works of art all echoed one shared goal: to nurture skills and hone talents that will unlock the potential of LNHSians for the future that awaits them.

โ€œI would like that whenever somebody sees my artwork, specifically this poster, I hope they take away that the talents and dreams they have shouldn't be withheld within a specific box that is limited by societyโ€™s expectations,โ€ Raiah Ayshea Patanao, one of the poster-making participants, expressed.

In essence, art serves as a powerful outlet for self-expression that transcends societal expectations. It is a reminder that as art breaks boundaries, individuals should also feel free to convey artistry within their crafts without being limited to external pressureโ€”a step, though little, inspires a ton.

Crista Moreen Leyco also shared that it is competitions like this that help young learners to enhance their confidence and skills, emphasizing that whether one wins or not, the experience gained is what truly matters.

๐—จ๐—ฝ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—”๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜†
According to Haneylen Albor, instructor of the Nail Care Competition, โ€œOur main goal is for others to patronize and inspire others to join Beauty Care.โ€

Events like Step Up serve as a memento that artistic passions thrive to the same degree as technical fields. It has brought opportunity for students to gain experience and be exposed to different career pathways that suit their ability.

Moreover, she later mentioned that hosting these kinds of competitions upholds craftsmanship and encourages the studentsโ€™ exposure by displaying what they have learned from their chosen specialization.

Beyond the competition itself, Step Up 4.0 is a platform where students could envision possibilities for their future careers through real-life applicationโ€”in this case, a series of skills competitions.

As the workplace industry is slowly being remolded by lesser artistry, focused on technical professions, this event showed that creativity and practicality can go hand in hand. It continues to empower young learners to shape their hopes and dreams by choice, whether through art, beauty care, or other technical skills.

A single rhythm awakens something beyond the crowd and the competition itself.

On March 12, 2026, Grades 9 and 10 students brought the Junior High School Physical Education culminating program to its final act through performances of social dance and hip-hop with the theme, โ€œAni ng Sining, Katotohanan at Giting.โ€

Grades 9 and 10 students filled the venue, turning the City Gymnasium into a stage where rehearsed moves unfolded before classmates and teachers.

๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐˜€๐˜„๐—ฎ๐˜†
The floor first welcomed the vibrant cadence of social dance as Grade 9 sections brought routines that blended swing and cha-cha, guiding partners through quick turns and steady footwork. The music carried a playful beat as sections repeated patterns during rehearsals.

Among them, 9-RD1 won as champion in the swing dance competition. Behind their performance were long hours of practice and a teacher who stayed with them throughout.

When their section was called as champion, 9-RD1 leader, Keith Darius Salazar, said the first thought that came to mind was their teacher who stood beside them during every rehearsal.

When the Grade 10 sections came on stage, the pace of the program changed.

The smooth grace of social dance turned into the fast beat of hip-hop. The beats got sharper, the movements got bolder, and the formations on the floor got more precise. Sections moved through synchronized formations, their routines shaped by creative choreography and precise timing.

Among the contenders, 10-ESJ2 stood out from the rest and claimed the crown.

โ€œGalawgawโ€ (Chaotic) was how Justine Gianne Quililan, the leader of 10-ESJ2, described their section. She added, โ€œThat was the word that other sections used for us. They told us that we had the moves, but it was galawgaw (chaotic).โ€

The rhythm that remained carries lessons that extend beyond comfort zones. โ€œDance Fusion 2026 is not just a culminating activity, but itโ€™s actually preparation for the students to become more confident and more skilled when it comes to performing arts,โ€ said Marjorie Asanza, one of the event organizers.

The culminating event meant more than just applause from the crowd. Every performance had pieces of long afternoons spent practicing steps, quiet words of encouragement between classmates, and the patient guidance of mentors who helped turn hard work into art.

Asanza added that it was never just about the competition. It was a place where students could find confidence through movement and express themselves in ways that words do not always capture.

When the rhythm starts to match a heartbeat, it becomes evident that the competition is more than just a dance. It had the sound of determination: carrying the small victories of practice, the patience of teachers guiding their students, and the effort of students determined to finish their junior high journey on beat.

As the crowd was filled with pounding hearts and cheers of tension and excitement, a whisper lured across seats; the kind that contained a story awaiting to be told once more, a deed wishing to be remembered, and a reflection that continuously shapes a nationโ€™s persona. With a deeply rooted historical character at the center of it all, it showed that cultural sentiments are valued just as much as every LNHSianโ€™s most anticipated coronation event.

Aligning itself with the National Arts Month, the Mathematics Department reintroduces its annual search for Lakan at Mutya ng Sipnayan with a hushed familiarityโ€”a face of identity.

In the 2026 Lakan at Mutya ng Sipnayan, Filipino culture wasnโ€™t just wornโ€”it's embodied. Behind their 25-centavo initiative, this yearโ€™s search opened an avenue encompassing their longstanding purpose. This time, itโ€™s not only financial responsibility thatโ€™s taught, but also cultural appreciation.

โ€ŽThe very face of the Sipnayan search is the surface of a twenty-five-centavo coin. In the searching process, 25-centavo coins are canvassed and used as votes. What was once deemed small and seemingly insignificant turned into a meaningful token of choice and responsible decisions.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž"The twenty-five-centavo coin is a very neglected coin nowadays," said Mathematics Club adviser, Shuri H. Sulmeran. As the smallest unit of currency in the Philippines, a centavo coin rarely received the same recognition as higher denominations. Oftentimes, itโ€™s overlooked, dismissed, or left forgotten in pockets and drawersโ€”just like traditional upbringings slowly disappearing from its own homeland.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž"Pero kapag pinagsama-sama, ito ay malaki," added Sulmeran. The collection of 25-centavo coins reflects the Filipino spirit of 'pakikiisa' or unity. Alone, each coin may seem small, but when gathered, they hold heavy weight and value. In the same way, Filipinos may appear small on their own, but together, they become the very faces that build this nation.

โ€œThe people needs to know the beauty of festivity here in the Philippines,โ€ the reigning mutya said.

Beneath layers of plastic and discarded scraps are tales with silent narrators. On stage, these remnants of everyday waste reemerged as festival-inspired ensembles, each piece echoing the richness of the Philippines woven into every stitch.

According to Sulmeran, compared to the previous themes, every admirable beauty of the Philippine communal heritage became this yearโ€™s pageant highlight, which coincides with the National Arts Month. This segment proved more than just a transformation of waste. It reflects the Filipino spirit of being 'maparaan' or being resourceful and resilientโ€”standing as a pinnacle of the creativity that thrives in what others choose to discard.

The recycled attire segment transformed into something more than just a runway showcase but also into a story retold, a purpose unfolded, and an expression of creativity and advocacy. Each piece was not just worn and presented on stage, but was also brought to life. It mirrored the revival of the discarded history and tradition.

Customarily, the countryโ€™s national wear, Barong Tagalog and Baroโ€™t Saya, carried identical details. Straying away from typical monotone designs, the top 10 finalists are equipped with craftsmanship that suits their own creativity and Filipino identity. With sleepless nights of stitches and embellishments, they combined modern elements, intricate details, and cultural identity, showcasing that in variety, thereโ€™s versatility.

As the candidates walked them out gracefully, they displayed how modernization can help keep up with changing standards without forgetting the traces of what it takes to be a Filipino. Through them, modernization didnโ€™t erase traditionsโ€”it elevated them, ensuring they remain vital, relatable, and radiant in the contemporary landscape.

The reimagination of Filipino formal wear is more than a fleeting trend; itโ€™s a step towards the evolution of the past and a warm greeting for the future.

The event didn't just leave a mark of pride among the candidates and audience, but also a lesson. It taught them that the Search for Lakan at Mutya ng Sipnayan was more than just being the most financially literateโ€”it was also about reflecting the Filipino identity through creativity and resourcefulness.

From beginning to end, the candidates were taught that it takes four 25-centavo coins to create one peso. However, everyone who witnessed every moment learned that a multitude of cultures must be preserved to forge the Filipino identity, a cultural centiment we must save to prosper.

Where do you find love?
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe search for love is like a search for air. It is looking for something you can't see, but can feel.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽLove is not tangible, it is a feeling; a strong force. A map won't help you find it.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽSeeking love is like seeking breath. A force necessary, yet invisible.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽLove is what gives our lives purpose. Without love, survival will feel meaningless.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽLove is the breath of life, flowing through every moment we live.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽA personโ€™s birth begins with love. A personโ€™s growth is nourished by love.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽLove is what keeps a person alive.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe search for love is like a search for air. It is in every corner, waiting to be noticed.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽLove is everywhere.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽIt is in the laughter of a group of friends sharing a meal. It is in the quiet presence of an old man watching the sunset. It is in the birds soaring freely across the sky with wings stretched wide.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽLove is in the strangers who you show unexpected kindness to, and yesโ€”love is present in you.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe first step in finding love is learning how to love yourself. When you nurture your own heart, you begin to see the love in others.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAnd sometimes, in a single heartfelt moment, you realize youโ€™ve been surrounded by it all along.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽNot all love comes with a label. There is love in passion, in family, in friends, even in strangers.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽLook closer. Stop searching.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽLove is here.
โ€ŽIt always was, and it always will be.

In every action, an essence lingers.

"No one would want something that smells," says Reynold Pulvinar, the Ligao National High School (LNHS) Student Technologists and Entrepreneurs of the Philippines (STEP) adviser. And this line would go the same for every humanโ€” not just students, teachers, or staff.

The club's booth stood amidst the torrent and winds on February 11, 2026, featuring numerous products like body accessories. But the highlight of the stall was a display of perfumes branded Blessed & Glorious (B&G), offering a variety of odors.

Timely with the season of love, the perfume is a way for the club to exhibit its goal of promoting entrepreneurship while also helping buyers to embody and attract love through scent.

In both animals and humans, scent plays a crucial role in selecting a mate. This is because natural scents can hint at our genetic compatibility with possible partners. Our body picks up signals like scent and influences our preferences, usually subconscious, according to Myotape.com.

When interacting with others, our body releases a chemical signal called pheromones. These substances can influence attraction and desire, and every human body is finely attentive to detect these.

This preference is rooted in evolution, promoting genetic diversity and reducing the risk of mating with relatives, because similar DNAs carry or exhibit the same pheromones.

Because humans have figured that scent affects perception, perfumes are historically used to exhibit and embody attractiveness.

When possessing a pleasant scent, interactions with other people are calmer and more pleasant due to the self-confidence acquired through the odor, a plus point for attractiveness and appeal in the eyes of others.

According to Fox-Skellyโ€™s report published in soci.org in December 2024, the fragrance industry is developing perfumes meant to trigger a specific emotion, making brain stimulation through olfactory cues controlled and more intentional.

With the season of hearts surging in the air, scent is just one of the ways to show love, not mainly for others but most importantly: oneself, for the truest form of love has an essence, and lingers.
