In celebration of Women’s Month, with the sub theme " 𝓛𝓮𝓪𝓭 𝓵𝓲𝓴𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓑𝓪𝓫𝓪𝔂𝓵𝓪𝓷𝓼, 𝓕𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓹𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓼!", we proudly recognize the women personnel—faculty and staff—of Bukidnon State University – Libona Campus, who embody the enduring spirit of the Babaylan.

Rooted in our rich cultural heritage, the Babaylan was more than a spiritual leader—she was a healer, a guide, a voice of wisdom, and a pillar of the community. Today, this legacy lives on through the empowered women of BukSU Libona.

💜 As educators, they shape minds with knowledge and compassion.
💜 As leaders, they inspire change and champion inclusive development.
💜 As healers—mental health advocates and a nurse—they nurture both mind and body.
💜 As women, they stand as symbols of resilience, strength, and transformation.

✨ Celebrating the Successful Kick-Off of Women’s Month 2026 ✨

The Bukidnon State University community successfully held the Kick-Off Activity for the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration , bringing together faculty, staff, and students in a meaningful celebration of women’s leadership and empowerment.

The program formally opened with an inspiring message from Dr. 𝑵𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝑩𝒓𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝑳. 𝑹𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒍, Campus Head,𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬—𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞-𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦, 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬. His message emphasized the continuing importance of empowering women and recognizing their vital role in building inclusive and resilient communities.

The activity continued with an energetic Zumba session led by the 3rd Year BPA students, followed by a Holy Mass presided by 𝑹𝒆𝒗. 𝑹𝒆𝒚 𝑹𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒐 for the Catholic community and a Bible Sharing led by 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝑹𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒇𝒐 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒃𝒂 for Christian participants, reflecting the spiritual dimension of unity and gratitude.

An inspiring message was also delivered by 𝑴𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝑷𝑴𝑹 𝑬𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏, who encouraged everyone to support gender equality and women’s empowerment. He also led the Pledge of Commitment to the National Women’s Month Celebration, reinforcing the shared responsibility of the community in advancing gender equality.

Adding excitement to the event were engaging activities such as the Poster Making Contest facilitated by Mr. Ken Dacup, and Women’s Month Trivia Questions facilitated by the hosts, Junel Quito and Benbert Baltonado.

A highlight of the celebration was the“𝑾𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒆: 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆” 𝑬𝒙𝒉𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒕, showcasing remarkable Filipina leaders who have contributed significantly to Philippine society across different fields and generations.

This successful kick-off reflects the strong commitment of the BukSU community to the 2026 Women’s Month theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society” and the sub-theme "𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒚𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒔, 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒔!"

This Breastfeeding Awareness Month, the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) highlights the importance of creating safe, accessible, and supportive spaces for breastfeeding mothers.

Breastfeeding plays a vital role in building a healthier future—not just for infants, but for mothers and communities as well. It reduces the risk of illness, promotes early bonding, and supports long-term well-being.

Yet many women still have to breastfeed in unsafe or uncomfortable conditions—whether in workplaces, transport hubs, or public spaces.

PCW calls for stronger implementation of gender-responsive policies that ensure the presence of well-equipped, dignified breastfeeding stations in both public and private spaces.

Supporting breastfeeding is not only a health measure—it’s about dignity, access, and equality.

When we make space for breastfeeding women, we build a healthier, more inclusive society.
