The celebration continued with another action-packed and meaningful day as the young people of Libagon came together for Linggo ng Kabataan 2026! 💙✨

Day 2 was filled with activities designed to promote awareness, camaraderie, healthy competition, teamwork, and active youth participation. 🙌

📚 THREE SIMULTANEOUS SYMPOSIUMS
The youth participated in three meaningful learning sessions facilitated by our partner agencies:
🚨 MDRRMO – disaster preparedness and safety
👮 PNP Libagon-MPS – peace, safety, and youth awareness
🩺 Municipal Health Office – health, wellness, and responsible decision-making

🏀 SPORTS ACTIVITIES
The competitive spirit was alive as our young participants showcased their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship through various sports activities! 💪🏆

🪢 LARO NG LAHI
A celebration of Filipino culture and childhood memories through traditional games that brought laughter, excitement, and friendly competition. 🇵🇭❤️

🎉 PARLOR GAMES
The fun continued with exciting parlor games that tested quick thinking, teamwork, and, of course, the ability to have a good laugh! 😂🙌

A night filled with youthful energy, talents, friendship, and celebration! 🎉💙

On August 21, 2026, the young people of Libagon gathered at the Libagon Municipal Plaza for the opening celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 and the PYAP Night Founding Anniversary—a meaningful celebration of the passion, creativity, and potential of the youth. The said event was a collaboration of Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Local Youth Development Office, and Sangguniang Kabataan-Libagon.

From exciting performances to inspiring moments of togetherness, the celebration highlighted that the youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but active partners in building a better community today. ✨

This celebration is a reminder that when young people are given opportunities to participate, express themselves, and lead, they can create meaningful change in their communities. 💪💙

Padayon, kabataan sa Libagon! Let us continue to dream, create, participate, and make our voices heard. Together, let us make this Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 a celebration to remember! 🫶

🎬 MY HEALTH, MY VOICE: EMPOWERING ADOLESCENTS THROUGH STORYTELLING! 🎥💙

As part of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 celebration, the Local Government Unit of Libagon through the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) invites the three secondary schools of Libagon to take part in our Video Documentary Contest!

With the theme “Promoting Adolescent-Friendly Health Services Through Youth Voices and Positive Action,” this is an opportunity for our young people to use their creativity, experiences, and voices to raise awareness on important adolescent health concerns and encourage positive health-seeking behaviors.

🎥 One (1) entry per school
👥 7–15 student members per team
⏱️ 3–5 minute documentary
📅 Submission: August 28, 2026 | 1:00 PM
PRIZES:
First- 7,000.00 (with certificate)
Second- 5,000.00 (with certificate)
Third- 3,000.00 (with certificate)

SPECIAL AWARDS:
•Best Storytelling (Cash Prize and Certificate)
•Best Advocacy Message (Cash Prize and Certificate)
•Best Cinematography (Cash Prize and Certificate)
•People's Choice Award (Cash Prize and Certificate)
•Best Youth Health Champion (Cash Prize and Certificate)

This year, we celebrate Linggo ng Kabataan and Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Anniversary 2026 on August 21–22, 2026, anchored on the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”

And this celebration is for EVERYONE! 🙌

Get ready for two days filled with activities that bring our youth together—games, sports, advocacy campaigns, talent showcase, and more! Whether you want to compete, showcase your talent, learn, advocate, cheer for your friends, or simply enjoy the celebration, there’s a space for you. 💙

Different interests. Different stories. Different strengths. But one common aspiration—to see our youth empowered, active, and making a difference in our community.

Everyone is invited to witness, participate, and enjoy! 🎉

In celebration of International Youth Day 2026, the Local Government Unit of Libagon through the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) provided One-Time Financial Assistance to indigent and students in crisis in the secondary level on August 12, 2026, at the Conference Hall, New Executive Building.

A total of twenty-five (25) students from RMSMNHS, LNHS, and LAFI received ₱1,000.00 each, coursed through their respective parents or guardians.

Before the provision of the assistance, a short parent-youth dialogue was facilitated by the Local Youth Development Officer Designate and Social Welfare Officer II, Ms. Micah S. Elvina. The dialogue focused on strengthening the relationship between children and their parents, encouraging open communication, and bridging the intergenerational gap that may sometimes create barriers in understanding one another.

During the dialogue, Ms. Elvina also emphasized that while the assistance is a one-time provision and may only cover some of the students' basic educational needs, parents and guardians are encouraged to utilize the amount responsibly for their children's education, such as for their daily school allowance and the purchase of school supplies and other necessary materials.

After the dialogue, the financial assistance was formally distributed to the identified beneficiaries.

This program is part of the Local Youth Development Plan and was initiated last year, with a focus on Education as one of the youth's key areas of participation and development. Through the provision of financial support, the program aims to help sustain young people's interest and participation in education, particularly those whose schooling may be affected by financial difficulties within their families.

The successful implementation of the program was made possible through the partnership of the LYDO and the Department of Education (DepEd), particularly the secondary schools within the district. The LYDO also recognizes the valuable assistance of the schools in identifying and validating the targeted beneficiaries.

The program prioritizes students who are non-4Ps beneficiaries, indigent or experiencing a crisis, as well as performing students whose education may be at risk due to economic challenges faced by their families.

In relation to this year's International Youth Day theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” the LYDO-Libagon recognizes that while students and their families may face different circumstances and hardships, their aspirations remain the same—to continue their education, build a better future, and achieve their dreams.

And sometimes, a little assistance can help a young person take one more step toward that aspiration. 💙
