St. Catherine Of Alexandria Parish Youth Ministry Traveling companion of the youth in journeying with Christ . John Paul II, World Youth Day 1995, Philippines

“What is needed today is a church, which knows how to respond to the expectations of young people. Jesus wants to enter into dialogue with them and, through his body, which is the church, to propose the possibility of a choice, which will require a commitment of their lives. As Jesus with the disciples of Emmaus, so the church must become the traveling companion of young people...”

YOUth mind matters | Sino o ano ang iyong pahinga?

Life can be demanding. Between responsibilities, expectations, and the quiet battles we carry, everyone needs a place, a person, or a moment that allows the heart to rest.

For some, it may be family, friends, music, prayer, or simply a quiet corner after a long day. For others, it may be found in serving, in studying, in creating, or in spending time with the people who make them feel safe.

Even in our faith, we are reminded that rest is not a luxury. It is a gift. Jesus Himself invites those who are weary and burdened to come to Him. In a world that constantly asks us to keep going, finding true rest is both necessary and sacred.

Whatever or whoever brings peace to your heart, treasure it. These are often God's gentle ways of reminding us that we do not have to carry everything alone.

Reminder:
There is something deeply comforting about having a person, a place, or a moment that becomes your rest.

Hold on to them.

YOUth mind matters | Who recently made you feel valued and appreciated?

There are moments in life when a simple word, a message, or a small act of kindness reminds us that we matter.

As students, part of the family, friends, or youth ministers, we sometimes carry silent struggles—feeling unnoticed, unappreciated, or unsure of our worth. But then someone comes along who listens, encourages, or simply shows up for us. In that moment, we are reminded that our presence has value.

In church life, this is what community is meant to be. A place where we lift one another up, where we remind each other that everyone has a place, a purpose, and a story that matters.

Sometimes God uses people around us— family, friends, fellow ministers, mentors, or even classmates—to remind us that we are seen and valued.

Reminder: If someone made you feel important today, that is already proof that your life has meaning in someone else's story. And kalakbay, don’t forget to do that for yourself too ha? Be kind to your own heart
