To welcome its new members, the University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi Law Debate and Moot Court Parliament (USTL-LDMCP)conducted an online orientation on Sunday, April 19, 2025, via Zoom. The event was also โaligned with the organization's mission to foster and reintroduce a culture of legal advocacy in the Legazpi Thomasian community.
Atty. Leandro M. Millano, Dean of the College of Law, provided his opening remarks and gave participants an inspiring message centered on the value of mooting and debate in honing holistic legal practitioners.
USTL-LDMCP President Alfren Anthony Yango discussed the organizationโs core culture and values. Additionally, Prime Minister Ace John Tabuzo provided a lecture on the mechanics of mooting, while Secretary-General Rhoda Elaine Azur delivered a comprehensive discussion on competitive law debating.
Vice President for Memberships Dave Joshua Belleza led the welcoming of the new official members, namely: Mary Angel Magayanes (JD2A), Kyla Mae Balderama (JD2B), and Richard Abenir (JD1A).
The program concluded with remarks from Executive Vice President Francine Mae Tayo, who expressed her gratitude to the members for heeding the call to join The Parliament.
The new members were also challenged to deliver their sharpest arguments in under sixty seconds during the "Just A Minute Speech" (JAMS) segment, showcasing their quick thinking, wit and humor, and oratorical flair.
