Fundación Educación y Cooperación –Educo, formerly Intervida Philippines Foundation, is a local branch of Fundación Educación y Cooperación, an international non-government organization for development, founded in Spain in 1994. Educo started in the Philippines in 2005 where it initially implemented programs on education, health, food security, economic development, environment and community participation. We operate in 192 schools and 184 communities spread in Camarines Sur, Sorsogon and Albay reaching about 70,000 children. Presently, our efforts are towards promoting the rights of children by helping build child-friendly communities, where children’s rights to survival, development, protection and participation are respected.

Every child deserves to be heard, understood, and actively included. 👂🏻🤟🏻

As part of the BICOL KIDS Project, our local partner organization, Simon of Cyrene Community Rehabilitation and Development Foundation, Inc. recently organized a 2-Day Sign Language Training for staff from Educo Philippines & BCCD - Bicol Center for Community Development, Inc.

The sessions equipped participants with essential FSL skills, building their confidence to communicate effectively with deaf and hard-of-hearing children, community members, and partners.

True climate resilience must be child-centered and disability-inclusive. Through the BICOL KIDS Project, we ensure that children and youth have the tools, voice, and space to lead climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction efforts regardless of ability.

No child should be left behind in building a safe, inclusive, and resilient Bicol! 💚

From fierce typhoons that disrupt school days to severe El Niño droughts that threaten children’s health and learning, the climate crisis is already at our doorstep. During such crises, classrooms are more than just places to learn; they are sanctuaries of safety, stability, and hope. Structured and inclusive learning gives children the emotional strength to recover, rebuild, and dream again, when climate disasters shatter their daily routine. 🎒✨

That is why we are proud to highlight the 𝗕𝗜𝗖𝗢𝗟 𝗞𝗜𝗗𝗦 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 (𝘉𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘖𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘭 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘈𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴). This Humanitarian Action initiative goes beyond short-term fixes. Through Simon of Cyrene Community Rehabilitation and Development Foundation, Inc., and together with DepEd Region V - Bicol, and the local governments of Donsol, Sorsogon and Caramoran, Catanduanes, we recently completed stakeholder consultations and inception workshops to build safer, more inclusive communities from the ground up. 🌿

Running until December 2028, BICOL Kids will empower children and youth across 42 schools and 33 communities through our Five-Level Base Camp Program. By embedding climate change adaptation, child rights, and disability inclusion into local planning, we ensure no child is left behind when disasters or droughts strike.

Because when we equip our children as climate leaders today, we protect their right to learn, grow, and thrive tomorrow. 🎒✨💚

When disasters strike, the impact goes far beyond damaged homes and classrooms. For children across the country, routines shatter, a sense of safety vanishes, and emotional recovery becomes just as urgent as physical relief.

Educo Philippines believes that learning is much more than books and four walls. Education heals, restores normalcy, and gives children the emotional strength to bounce back.

Through our Humanitarian Action Program, we don't just deliver immediate relief. We bridge emergency response with long-term development and resilience-building. Guided by a child-centered and inclusive approach, we ensure that every child, regardless of background, ability, or circumstance, is seen, protected, and heard. We champion the active participation of children whose voices shape recovery, ensuring no one is left behind when crisis hits. Empowering children for a climate-resilient future! 💚

We’re thrilled to join hands with Simon of Cyrene Community Rehabilitation and Development Foundation, Inc. for the BICOL KIDS (Bicol Innovative Capacities for Optimal Learning and Knowledge in Climate Adaptation for Children in their Communities) Project (2026–2028).

Together with DepEd Region V - Bicol and local government partners in Donsol, Sorsogon, and Caramoran, Catanduanes, we are creating safe, inclusive spaces where children can participate, lead, and take action toward disaster risk reduction and climate resilience. 🌏✨
