Two months ago, a catastrophic earthquake struck Mindanao, bringing down homes and changing lives across the region in a matter of seconds. But today, a story of resilience, care, and rebuilding unfolded.🏡

Marking the first stop across three priority barangays, our team began the distribution of shelter materials that will reach a total of 530 families with damaged homes. Before a single bag of cement or a piece of lumber was handed over to today's 46 families, our community volunteers sat down with them. They didn’t start with logistics; they started by asking a simple, heartfelt question: "Kumusta na kayo?"🤝

For these returning recipients of our initial emergency response ( ), those words meant everything. Two months after the disaster, having someone listen to their struggles and offer practical tips on how to rebuild safer and stronger brought a renewed sense of security. 🛡️

With physical shelter being a fundamental pillar of child protection, providing these families with shelter materials like cement, lumber, and G.I. sheets is about more than just construction. It is about giving children a safe roof, and giving elderly parents the peace of mind they deserve. 🏠

"Maraming salamat sa Educo Philippines. Sa kabila ng lahat ng pinagdaanan namin, nararamdaman naming hindi kami nakakalimutan", an elderly beneficiary from Brgy. Dadiangas West exclaimed after receiving her preferred shelter materials.

We were deeply honored to walk alongside our project partners from the TFCF Philippines 菲律賓家扶中心, who joined us on the ground to witness this milestone of recovery.

Disasters may break structures, but they cannot break the spirit of a community that stands together.💚

⏳ 12 DAYS TO GO! ⏳

A milestone moment for children's rights in the Bicol Region is almost here! 📍 On August 19–20, 2026, Educo Philippines will convene key local, regional and national leaders, government partners, civil society organizations, and advocates in Legazpi City, Albay, for the 2026 Partnership Convergence!

Under the theme "Uniting to Build Nurturing Communities With and For Children," this gathering marks a pivotal transition: celebrating our significant milestones, community resilience, and impact. Together, we are building a legacy of nurturing communities with and for Bicolano children. The journey continues! 💚

In emergency contexts, physical shelter is a fundamental pillar of child protection. When homes are destroyed, children face heightened risks of displacement, emotional distress, and compromised safety.🏠🛡️

With our completed, is moving forward into The Mindanao Earthquake Rehabilitation and Recovery Project.

Today, our dedicated community volunteers are on the ground in General Santos City, conducting rapid needs assessments and beneficiary validation across three barangays. Listening directly to families with damaged homes ensures that our upcoming Voucher Assistance for shelter repairs and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) reach those who need them most.

Every conversation brings us one step closer to securing safer, resilient homes for children to sleep, study, and grow. Together, we are building a foundation where healing can truly take root. 🌿🏡

Every number represents a family holding on, a child finding comfort, and a community standing together. 📽️💚✨

Our Mindanao Earthquake Emergency Response began right on the ground, where and チャイルド・ファンド・ジャパン (ChildFund Japan) first listened to communities through ground assessments following the devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake.

Beyond physical loss, our assessment revealed a silent, critical need: deep emotional trauma amidst continuous aftershocks. That insight shaped our entire response across General Santos City: delivering essential relief kits, jerry cans, and solar lamps to over 2,000 families, providing Psychological First Aid to caregivers and elders, and setting up safe Child-Friendly Spaces so young ones could play, laugh, and heal again.

While this have officially concluded, our journey with these resilient communities is far from over. This August, we are stepping into the Rehabilitation and Recovery phase, continuing to walk alongside families as they rebuild their lives and futures. 🌿✨

Disasters may cause the ground to shake, but together, we rebuild lives on a foundation that will never break. Take a few minutes to watch the story unfold...because healing matters, hope must be restored, and people matter. 🎬👇
