The Social Action Center- Diocese of Legazpi, in partnership with the 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 (𝗕𝗙𝗔𝗥) — 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗮𝘆 has successfully distributed 𝟐,𝟏𝟓𝟎 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐅𝐈𝐒𝐇 𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐒 to our 𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐂 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲!

This is more than just fish — this is HOPE. OPPORTUNITY. AND A BRIGHTER FUTURE for every family on the island! This initiative is designed to provide sustainable aquaculture-based income opportunities for the beneficiaries, empowering them to build a better and more stable livelihood right from the waters they call home.

A highlight of the day was the personal turnover of the fingerlings by none other than 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗖. 𝗟𝗮𝘁,-𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 himself! His presence and hands-on involvement in the turnover speaks volumes about his genuine commitment and heart for the communities he serves. From the bottom of our hearts — 𝙎𝘼𝙇𝘼𝙈𝘼𝙏 𝙋𝙊! 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | A meaningful and purposeful project visit was conducted alongside 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗟𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, as part of the ongoing commitment to monitor, listen, and act on human rights concerns at the grassroots level. 💛

The team made their way to the 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝗼𝘆𝘁𝗼𝘆, 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝘆𝗼𝗮𝗻, where dedicated Barangay Officials were present and ready to share updates on the current situation in their communities. The visits opened honest and important conversations — shedding light on the real issues and concerns being experienced by community members, while also recognizing the efforts of local authorities in responding to these challenges and moving forward with the initial activities of the project. Every voice heard, every story shared, matters.

The journey continued to 𝗦𝘁𝘀. 𝗝𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵, where the team had a fruitful discussion with Rev. Fr. Jose Barranda Jr. The conversation centered on the current state of the parish and community, touching on relevant human rights concerns and developments connected to the project. The visit also served as a powerful opportunity to strengthen coordination, deepen relationships, and reinforce the shared mission of supporting the community alongside local stakeholders. ⛪🌿

Capping off the day, the team proceeded to the 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗽𝗶, where they met with Hon. Renato Valladolid, Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights. At the heart of their discussion was the proposed Human Rights Defenders Protection Ordinance — a landmark step toward ensuring that those who stand up for rights and justice are themselves protected. 🏛️✊

All of these efforts are part of the project "𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀" — implemented by the Social Action Center-Diocese of Legazpi in partnership with Caritas Philippines, Horizont3000, and the European Union. Together, we believe that every person deserves dignity, justice, and protection. 💪🌍

The work continues. The mission is clear. Human rights is everyone's responsibility. 🕊️❤️

𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗮𝘄𝗮 𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗖 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 (𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻, 𝗥𝗮𝗽𝘂 𝗥𝗮𝗽𝘂, 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗮𝘆)

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗕𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗔𝗪 & 𝗧𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗥𝗘-𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

A meaningful and spirit-filled gathering took place last August 1, 2026 at the Parish Hall of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Oas, Albay. Initiated by the Parish Commission on Social Concerns (PCSC) of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, in partnership with the Social Action Center Diocese of Legazpi and the Diocesan Commission on Social Concerns (DCSC), this re-orientation brought hearts together for faith, action, and service. 💛🙏

The day was filled with powerful and inspiring talks. Fr. Eric Martillano, SAC Executive Director, opened with his talk on the Spirituality of Social Apostolate, graciously introduced by Gladys Redillas. This was followed by Jason Sevilla who spoke on Tanganing An Dukha Atamanon, and Myrna Llanes who delivered the talk on Developmental Works of Mercy. Each message deepened our understanding and renewed our call to serve.

The activity was made possible through the steadfast support of Rev. Fr. Nomer Balmaceda as Priest Coordinator and Joel Oscuro as PCSC Chair, whose leadership and dedication continue to inspire the community.

Together, we are called to serve, uplift, and walk with the poor. Let this re-orientation renew our commitment to the Social Apostolate and remind us that our faith is most alive when it is put into action!

We are overjoyed to celebrate the completion of our INELP Feeding Program across multiple communities! 🍽️❤️ Over the past months, undernourished children from four barangays have graduated from the 120-day supplemental feeding program — and the results are truly heartwarming:

📍 Barangay Agñas, San Miguel Island, Tabaco City (March 13, 2026)
🌟 20 children graduated — most reaching normal nutritional status!

📍 Barangay Badian, Oas, Albay (March 17, 2026)
🌟 34 children graduated — gaining healthy weight and height!

📍 Barangay Mayong, Tiwi, Albay (April 15, 2026)
🌟 40 children graduated — nourished in body and spirit!

📍 Barangay Buyo, Manito, Albay (May 6, 2026)
🌟 53 children graduated — thriving and growing strong!

We know this post is long overdue, but these moments are too precious not to share. 🥹 A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated partners — the parishes, schools, barangay councils, and loving parents — who made this all possible. 🙏
