On March 26, 2026, Sunwest Care Foundation, Inc. (SCFI) conducted a Relief Assistance initiative for the fire-affected family of Ms. Azul and Mr. Ligot in Barangay Budiao, Daraga, Albay, whose home and belongings were severely damaged by a recent fire incident.
To help the family begin their recovery, SCFI provided grocery relief packs containing essential food items and household necessities, along with construction materials such as coco lumber and nails to support the rebuilding of their home.

Further demonstrating the spirit of collaboration, Embarcadero Land Ventures, Inc. (ELVI) donated light scrap materials, including reusable metal sheets and assorted wood cuts, which can be used for temporary shelter reconstruction. The distribution and proper management of these materials were facilitated by Mr. Hector A. Lagunday, Fixed Asset/Warehouse Head, ensuring that the assistance reached the beneficiaries efficiently. In addition, Misibis Foundation Inc. (MFI) also provide hygiene kits as additional basic needs for the victims.

This initiative reflects SCFI's commitment to providing timely and compassionate assistance to families affected by disasters. Through the collective efforts of our partners, we continue to bring hope, restore dignity, and help communities rebuild stronger after times of crisis.

On March 27, 2026, Mabinit Elementary School conducted its Stakeholders’ Appreciation Summit to recognize and honor the valuable contributions of its partners and supporters in delivering quality education and promoting learners’ welfare. Sunwest Care Foundation, Inc. (SCFI) successfully conducted an online orientation for the Barangay Councils of Barangay Marinawa and Barangay Calatagan Proper on April 24, 2026, in preparation for the recruitment of scholars under the High School Educational Assistance Program (HSEAP) and College Sponsorship Program (CSP).

The activity gathered nine (9) barangay officials, including Barangay Captains, Barangay Secretaries, and Barangay Kagawad under the Committee on Education, to discuss the scholarship recruitment process and their vital role in identifying and endorsing qualified applicants within their respective communities.

During the orientation, participants were guided through the Foundation's scholarship programs, applicant qualifications, selection criteria, documentary requirements, application forms, and the recruitment timeline. The session also highlighted the importance of close coordination between SCFI and the barangays to ensure a transparent, organized, and efficient selection process.

Through the active participation and support of our partner barangays, SCFI continues to expand access to educational opportunities for deserving and financially challenged students, empowering them to pursue their dreams and build a brighter future.

Sunwest Care Foundation, Inc. (SCFI) continues to expand its reach by strengthening partnerships with communities where its affiliate companies operate.

On April 9, 2026, SCFI successfully conducted Program Orientations in Barangay Marinawa, Bato and Barangay Calatagan Proper, Virac, Catanduanes, bringing together 34 barangay officials and community representatives.

The orientations introduced SCFI's mission, vision, and key programs in Education, Health and Nutrition, Livelihood, and Social Services, while providing an opportunity to listen to the communities' priorities and identify areas for future collaboration.
The discussions highlighted the communities' aspirations, including support for feeding programs, scholarship opportunities, livelihood and skills training, backyard gardening initiatives, and the strengthening of local health services through the provision of equipment and medicines. Through an open dialogue, both barangays shared their needs, existing initiatives, and commitment to working hand in hand with SCFI in creating sustainable and community-driven programs.

By building meaningful partnerships and listening to the voices of the communities, SCFI remains committed to developing responsive programs that create lasting impact and improve the quality of life of the families and communities it serves.

Sunwest Care Foundation Inc. (SCFI) successfully conducted a Spiritual Formation Activity for its Grade 10-11 High School scholars on April 29, 2026, at the Redemptoristine Monastery in Gogon, Legazpi City. With a total of twenty-three (23) participants, the activity aimed to provide a reflective and meaningful space for scholars to look back on their experiences, appreciate the people who shaped them, and prepare for their future with renewed faith and purpose.

The activity was facilitated by Sem. Xavier John Merwin B. Rebulanan, SCFI’s College Seminary Scholar, together with Sem. Jhade Michael Oquialdo. Through their guidance, the scholars were led through series of engaging and reflective sessions anchored on the theme “Kilapsaw: Looking Back and Looking Forward.

Overall, the activity provided a safe and nurturing space for reflection, sharing, and spiritual growth. It allowed scholars to strengthen their self-awareness, deepen their relationships, and embrace their future with faith and confidence. As part of its unwavering commitment to nurturing future-ready individuals, Sunwest Care Foundation, Inc. (SCFI) successfully conducted a Career Guidance Activity for its Grade 12 scholars on April 25, 2026, with the theme "Navigating the Road to College: Empowering Students' Path to Success."

A total of 21 graduating scholars—composed of 17 external (Community-based) and 4 internal scholars (Employees Welfare)—actively participated in the activity, where they were guided in exploring college courses, identifying career opportunities, and aligning their educational choices with their interests, strengths, and aspirations.

Beyond choosing a degree program, the session also equipped the scholars with practical insights on goal setting, time management, and preparing for the challenges of college life. More importantly, it inspired them to move forward with confidence, purpose, and determination as they embark on the next chapter of their educational journey.

Women are the heart of families, workplaces, and communities—shaping lives through their strength, leadership, and resilience. Their voices and contributions drive progress and inspire change toward a more inclusive and equitable society.

In celebration of National Women's Month, Sunwest Care Foundation, Inc. (SCFI), in partnership with the City Health Office, gathered 97 women from Barangays Buyoan, Matanag, Matnog, and Lidong for a day of learning, empowerment, and fellowship on March 20, 2026, at Barangay Matnog, Daraga, Albay.

The celebration featured a Mental Health Awareness session led by Ms. Jinky Torre, HEPO III, along with a lively Dance Presentation Competition and the recognition of outstanding participants and barangays. The activity promoted women's well-being, strengthened community connections, and celebrated the vital role of women in building resilient families and communities.
