๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ | UN Exhibit Highlights Student Commitment to Global Sustainability
Promoting awareness and social responsibility, the Senior High School Department of Divine Word College of Legazpi successfully conducted the UN Exhibit from October 22 to 28, 2025, held at the SHS Building Lobby.
The exhibit showcased the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming to deepen the understanding of students, faculty, and visitors on pressing global issues involving social development, economic growth, and environmental protection. The opening of the exhibit coincided with the Marian Exhibit, creating a meaningful blend of spiritual reflection and social consciousness.
Preparation for the UN Exhibit was a collaborative effort that took several weeks, as students and teachers worked hand in hand in researching, brainstorming, and conceptualizing creative ways to present their assigned SDGs. Each of the 17 sections was tasked to represent one goal, exploring themes such as No Poverty, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Climate Action, and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, among others. Through posters, infographics, models, and interactive displays, students were able to creatively communicate the relevance of these goals to everyday life.
Despite the challenge of limited space in the lobby, the exhibit was carefully arranged to ensure a smooth flow for visitors while maximizing the visibility of each sectionโs output. The event was met with enthusiasm from the school community, encouraging attendees to explore and reflect on the importance of sustainability and global responsibility.
The exhibit also gained significance during the presence of the PAASCU evaluators, as it highlighted the schoolโs dedication to nurturing socially aware and proactive learners. Through the successful conduct of the UN Exhibit, DWCL SHS demonstrated its commitment to developing students who are not only academically equipped, but also ready to take part in building a more sustainable and equitable world.
