The Alay Kaalaman 2026 was successfully conducted on May 2, 2026 at the covered court of Bariw Elementary School, Brgy. Bariw, Legazpi City, Albay. This meaningful initiative was held to promote the value of education and extend support to young learners through community outreach.

More than a simple activity, Alay Kaalaman served as a reminder that education remains one of the strongest foundations of hope. Through shared efforts and collective service, we were able to bring not only learning materials and assistance, but also inspiration and encouragement to continue striving for a brighter future.

The program reflected the true essence of unity and bayanihanโ€”proving that when individuals come together with compassion and purpose, even the smallest acts can create a lasting impact.

May this outreach continue to strengthen the bond between the school and the community,
and may it inspire every learner to dream bigger, work harder, and believe in their potential.

Together, we continue to weave unity and break barriers through education.

๐ˆ๐ ๐๐‡๐Ž๐“๐Ž๐’ | UN Exhibit Highlights Student Commitment to Global Sustainability

Promoting awareness and social responsibility, the Senior High School Department of Divine Word College of Legazpi successfully conducted the UN Exhibit from October 22 to 28, 2025, held at the SHS Building Lobby.

The exhibit showcased the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming to deepen the understanding of students, faculty, and visitors on pressing global issues involving social development, economic growth, and environmental protection. The opening of the exhibit coincided with the Marian Exhibit, creating a meaningful blend of spiritual reflection and social consciousness.

Preparation for the UN Exhibit was a collaborative effort that took several weeks, as students and teachers worked hand in hand in researching, brainstorming, and conceptualizing creative ways to present their assigned SDGs. Each of the 17 sections was tasked to represent one goal, exploring themes such as No Poverty, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Climate Action, and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, among others. Through posters, infographics, models, and interactive displays, students were able to creatively communicate the relevance of these goals to everyday life.

Despite the challenge of limited space in the lobby, the exhibit was carefully arranged to ensure a smooth flow for visitors while maximizing the visibility of each sectionโ€™s output. The event was met with enthusiasm from the school community, encouraging attendees to explore and reflect on the importance of sustainability and global responsibility.

The exhibit also gained significance during the presence of the PAASCU evaluators, as it highlighted the schoolโ€™s dedication to nurturing socially aware and proactive learners. Through the successful conduct of the UN Exhibit, DWCL SHS demonstrated its commitment to developing students who are not only academically equipped, but also ready to take part in building a more sustainable and equitable world.

In celebration of this year's United Nations Day, the DWCL SHS Chapter Club for UNESCO, in collaboration with the Senior High School Executive Board, organized a series of events with the theme "Uniting for Global Sustainability and Lasting Impact" from November 4-7, 2024.

-SDG Awareness through Posters

-Sustainable Vision

-Flags of the World

-SDG Adventure: Climb and Conquer

The event began with SDG Awareness through Posters and Sustainable Vision, in which the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were displayed in the SHS hallways to promote peace and inclusivity as well as to stimulate the foundation of knowledge of students at various levels of education to promote sustainability. Several SDG-related videos were shown on the TV screen to encourage people to take action to help the country become more sustainable.

The flags of the world were displayed to encourage worldwide variety and broaden international understanding of diverse civilizations throughout the world.

Following the aforementioned activities, the event's centerpiece is the SDG Adventure: Climb and Conquer, a snakes and ladders-inspired game with United Nations and Sustainable Development Goals at its core.

The first round of the SDG Adventure: Climb and Conquer elimination round took place on November 5, 2024, at the Science Laboratory and Conference Room. Participants were separated into four groups, and the winners were:

Game 1- Cyline Joyce A. Alfuente (Grade 11- Fr. Miguel Hergesheimer, SVD)

Game 2- Ila Prizia Rey (Grade 12- Br. Ulricus Meyer, SVD)

Game 3- Irish Nicole Tan (Grade 12- Fr. Herman Mueller, SVD)

Game 4- Lorraine Ilagan ( Grade 12 Fr. Leonardo Estioko, SVD)

The second round of the competition was on November 6, 2024. The contestants were paired to compete to qualify for the finals. The winners for this round were:

Game 5- Irish Nicole Tan (Grade 12- Fr. Herman Mueller, SVD)

Game 6- Lorraine Ilagan ( Grade 12 Fr. Leonardo Estioko, SVD)

The championship round was held on November 7, 2024, at the SHS Lobby, wherein human-sized snakes and ladders were prepared and the participants acted as the pawns of the game. The game became more intense when the two players were both nearing the end block. At the end, Irish Nicole Tan of Grade 12-Fr. Herman Mueller, SVD. was declared the champion of the game.
