Buklod once consisted of leaders we believed in for their sincerity and I think itโs time to believe in that sincerity once more.
I stand behind Mark Dominic Peregrino and his slate because their decision to run is grounded in their lived experiences as student leaders. Weโve seen it during the debate forum, sila ay mga lider estudyante na hindi magpapatinag sa ingay ng politika at patuloy na maglilingkod ng buong puso. They are, in many ways, underdogs, and it is worth remembering that many of the most meaningful changes in the past were led by those once seen as underdogs.
Dahil sa kabila ng mga pagsubok, pinili nilang tumindig at maglingkod, even when it would have been easier to stay silent. What sets this slate apart is not just visibility but character, grace in leadership, which I witnessed during consultations. Clearly, there is humility in service and accountability in action.
They understand that leadership must translate into real improvements in student services hindi lang maayos sa papel, kundi ramdam sa serbisyo. More than titles or affiliations, they are committed to improving the systems they once navigated themselves.
My support for this slate is anchored in the belief that they can help build a more responsive, student-centered Bicol University. And that under Buklod, they carry this genuine intent to serve, but this time, with humility and more importantly, a collective approach to leadership which balances grace with authority.
This is a vote for leaders who donโt just speak but show up, serve, and stay despite it all. Theyโre the ones we once believed in. Maybe itโs time to believe again.
