The Federation of Bicol Mountaineers Inc. stands with the people of Sibuyan Island in opposing mining activities that threaten the island's forests, watersheds, biodiversity, and communities.

Sibuyan is not just one island—it is a reminder that every mountain and forest in the Philippines is worth protecting.

𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁.

We urge the local government to reconsider decisions that place Sibuyan's natural heritage at risk. Let us choose protection over exploitation—for Sibuyan, and for generations yet to come.

To our fellow mountaineers and all Filipinos: stand with us in defending Sibuyan and every mountain and forest that sustains life.

No to destructive mining. Yes to the protection of Sibuyan and all Philippine mountains and forests.

We’ve received many inquiries regarding the 9th Bantayog Climb following the recent news about the cancellation of the 22nd Bantayog Festival.

Here is the official update: We aren't packing up our bags just yet. While the festival might be on hold, the mountain isn’t going anywhere—and neither are we! 🚩

🔄 THE PIVOT: Introducing the "1st OIL HIKE"
A New Event Is Born! Due to the cancellation of the Bantayog Festival and the continuous increase in oil prices, we’ve decided to take a HIKE.

We are officially rebranding this year's climb to the 1st OIL HIKE. If we can't afford the gas to drive there, we’re definitely going to make the most of the walk! ⛽️❌

🗓️ THE DETAILS REMAIN THE SAME:
Dates: April 11-12, 2026

The Mission: Summiting the peak, witnessing the rare Rafflesia in bloom, and cooling off with our River Sidetrip.

The Vibe: Trading horsepower for leg power and carbon emissions for mountain mist.
