LOOK: The Albay Digital Transformation Center, under the supervision of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, recently concluded the first batch Training on Basic Graphic Design using Canva. This 2-day training, which run from March 5 – 6, 2026, is in collaboration with Children International (Bicol) Inc. for the former sponsored youth of the organization and has an equivalent of 16 training hours. Certificates of Completion were distributed to participants who have satisfactorily completed the training.

This is the first batch of three batches scheduled to be conducted this March, with the next batch on March 12-13 and the last batch on March 19-20. The goal of the program is to equip the youth with relevant skills that can help them in their future careers and personal development.

We are excited to officially introduce the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗜𝗘) 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺, a group of dedicated professionals committed to empowering participants toward 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 across our Service Area Centers (SACs).

Mike provides 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 for the IE program, ensuring strong workforce development strategies and alignment with program goals.

Kevin links youth to 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 and 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 through strategic partnerships with employers, training institutions, civil society, and local stakeholders, while strengthening employability skills including interview preparation, résumé writing, career exploration, and entrepreneurship.

𝗦𝗮𝗺 & 𝗡𝗼𝗲 – Employment Program Officers (EPO)
Sam and Noe work directly with 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 across multiple Service Area Centers, supporting job readiness, employment placement, and employer coordination.

IN PHOTOS | Ang consultative meeting ng Service Area Center B (SAC-B Sta. Teresa) para sa mga Service Delivery Point (SDP) partners nito. Ang mga SDP ang mga paaralan na katuwang ng CI sa pagsasagawa ng mga programa nito para sa sponsored participants.

Ginawa rin sa afternoon session ang invocation ng mga Volunteer Club Facilitators (VCF) na gabay ng mga sponsored participants sa mga learning sessions nila.

Ang aktibidad ay ginawa sa Malilipot Central School, February 7.

OUTSTANDING STAKEHOLDER | Thanks to the Department of Education for recognizing Children International (CI) Bicol as Division 2025 Outstanding Stakeholder, “in recognition of exceptional dedication, generous assistance, and meaningful partnerships that significantly enhanced school facilities, promoted learner welfare, and strengthened community involvement in Adopt-a-School program for the Brigada Eskwela.

CI Bicol also recently launched the first school-based Social Accountability initiative at Mabinit Elementary School.

Interim Agency Director Malou Detecio received the award on CI’s behalf.

ANOTHER FIRST | After launching the first Social Accountability (SA) initiative with a public hospital last week, CI Bicol marked another milestone in its SA initiative with the start of the SA in education in Mabinit Elementary School in Legazpi City.

Through the SA initiative, CI facilitates and helps its partners come up with solutions to identified gaps and problem areas in the community or institution with the participation of various stakeholders.

“We all know that it takes a village to raise a child. This is true especially in education,” Mabinit Elementary School Miguel Dominique Martinez said, “It is not only the school that has the responsibility of honing the children. This day is proof that our school is not alone. We are surrounded by a caring village. Through this initiative, we are reminded that transparency, inclusivity, and shared responsibility are powerful forces. When we gather as one, we can see clearly the needs of our learners.”

Public Schools Division Superintendent Danilo Despi added that “it is through this covenant that we can hear the voices that we need to hear from our stakeholders, including the parents, so that we can have a better, liberating, relevant, and functional education for our children.”

Several focus group discussions were held with different stakeholders during the launch. Mabinit Barangay Secretary Ronaldo Agao expressed thanks for having the SA initiative in their barangay.

“When there is a clear shared responsibility, the steps that we take become clearer. Every peso spent, every policy made, every decision taken should be aimed at the collective good — for the benefit of our children,” Interim CI Bicol Agency Director Malou Detecio said.

The event also featured the signing of the memorandum of agreement between CI and Mabinit Elementary School, and the official turnover of donated computers to the school.

VOLUNTEERS’ RECOGNITION | CI Bicol Community Center E - Salvacion recognized all its volunteers and their contributions during their Volunteers’ Day celebration at The Concourse in Legazpi City, December 7.

The top performing volunteers (finalists) and the Volunteers of the Year were also honored during the event. Congrats CC E volunteers for a year of job well done! Thank you for your selfless efforts for our sponsored children this year.
