𝗢𝗡 𝗘𝗗𝗦𝗔’𝗦 39𝗧𝗛

The Catholic Educational Association of Legazpi (CEAL) Youth Commission stands with Bikol Association of Catholic Schools (BACS) and all institutions who have upheld the EDSA People Power Revolution despite the government’s attempts to downgrade a pivotal moment in Philippine History.

As young leaders and future changemakers, we recognize our monumental role in carving our nation’s path toward justice, peace, and freedom. As the anniversary of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution approaches, we call on those who share our aspirations to join us in this mission—educate, inspire, and take a stand for what is right.

“Let our Catholic pedagogy be: to look, to listen, and to love. Dedicate this day to viewing documentaries about Martial Law, engaging with lectures on Catholic Social Teachings such as Fratelli Tutti and Dilexit Nos, and reflecting deeply upon these teachings. Additionally, let us perform acts of love in response to what we have witnessed and learned. Start or end the day with prayers and the celebration of the Eucharist. The country is worth praying for.

May February 25 henceforth be regarded not merely as an ordinary holiday or school day. but as one of the most solemn occasions in our academic calendar.”

On EDSA’s 39th anniversary, we shall never forget.

𝙄𝙠𝙖𝙬, 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝙢𝙤? 🧐

Day 2 of this year’s BACS Youth Advocacy Summit paved the way for immersive learning experiences as participants were assigned to different sites in Sorsogon City based on their respective advocacies.

With this experience, delegates from the Catholic Association of Legazpi (CEAL) were able to synthesize their learnings into statements that have carved an indelible mark on both their minds and spirits.

In hopes to further spread the message of Laudato Si, as well as educate others on the message of JEEPGY, here is Day 2 of the summit in photos. With this, we hope that you also become inspired and incentivized to act by the advocacies that BACS upholds.

𝙇𝘼𝙐𝘿𝘼𝙏𝙊 𝙎𝙄 🌿

Representing the Catholic Educational Association of Legazpi (CEAL), delegates from St. Agnes Academy, Divine Word College of Legazpi, Catholic Central School of Tabaco, and Mater Salutis College Seminary attended the 2025 BACS Youth Advocacy Summit.

With the theme "Pilgrims of Hope: Stewards of Creation," the summit commenced on February 12, 2025.

Day 1 of the three-day event was held at the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Seminary in Sorsogon City, featuring plenary sessions centered on the event's theme.

The summit aims to spread the message of Laudato Si, as well as empower BACS members on advocacies such as JEEPGY.
