Every great institution begins not with stone, but with a prayer.
Twenty-five years ago, a vision took root in the fertile soil of Banquerohan, Legazpi. The Salesians of Don Bosco looked at the vast, rugged landscapes of Bicol and saw a calling. They answered a silent cry echoing from the rural heartlands, guided by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Legazpi, which generously donated fourteen (14) hectares of land. Among the pioneers was Brother Luigi Parolin, an Italian Salesian whose grit matched his faith. He arrived with a mission to rescue marginalized, rural youth from the cycle of poverty. In those early days, amid the dust and clearing brush, the foundations of hope were poured.
Look around you. The sprawling fields you walk across today, the modern greenhouses, and the hum of the machinery—none of this was here twenty-five years ago. In the year 1998, this was just an empty, rugged landscape. But where others saw wild brush, the Salesians saw a sanctuary. Then, in 2000, the Don Bosco Agro-Mechanical Technology Center was founded. It quickly became more than just a school. Through partnerships with TESDA, hands that once struggled to make a living learned to master specialized agro-mechanics, electrical systems, and sustainable farming. But the true trademark of a Bosconian education wasn't just technical skill—it was heart. True to St. John Bosco’s vision, every lesson was anchored in values. We weren't just training workers; we were forming upright citizens.
The Bosconian Young Farmers Club, this youth-led agricultural cooperative, empowered students to become entrepreneurs. They were no longer just learning; they were trading, managing, and sustaining their community. The school grounds hummed with life, serving as living proof that poverty could be outsmarted through hard work and structured technical education.
To our alumni watching this: you are the living proof of this 25-year miracle. You span across industries, lifting your families and rebuilding the Bicol region. You came here seeking an opportunity, and you left carrying a legacy. And to our current students: you walk in the footsteps of giants. You are the continuous beat of Don Bosco's heart in Legazpi.
But this sacred mission could never have walked this path alone. Today, as we look across these fourteen (14) thriving hectares, we bow our heads in profound gratitude to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Legazpi and the Salesians of Don Bosco. It was their providential vision-mission that gave us a physical home. This profound vision-mission relies entirely on the generous support of local and international benefactors. By funding essential facilities, modern equipment, and student scholarships, these partners directly empower at-risk Bicolano students to overcome poverty.

Celebrating our benefactors is more than just offering words of thanks; it is a lifelong commitment to spiritual reciprocity. Bosconians and Lay Mission Partners regularly offer prayers for the prosperity of their donors, while our graduates pay this generosity forward by becoming productive, active citizens.
Twenty-five years of grace. A silver milestone written by the hand of God and sustained by the dedication of the Salesian family. As we look toward the horizon, our vision and mission remain absolute. The "Silver Horizon" represents a bold commitment to steer the Salesian vision and mission as a premier agro-technological center in Bicol, as it offers the poor, especially the youth, complete training and Christian guidance to support them in reaching their potential even in the next quarter-century. Our graduates step across this anniversary threshold not just as skilled technicians and smart farmers, but as honest citizens carrying St. John Bosco’s flame. Secure under the maternal protection of Mary Help of Christians, Don Bosco Legazpi looks toward the future with endless hope and active charity. So, let us stand by our motto, “Per Agrum, Ad Summum”, march forward into the next chapter, forever bound by love and forever proud.
