๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐? On June 12, 1898, General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed Philippine independence from Spanish colonial rule in Kawit, Cavite , with the unfurling of the national flag and the first public playing of the Lupang Hinirang.
