The YMCA of Albay General Secretary and IOCโNational Program Secretary, Ms. Ianne Christine Aquino, participated in the 21st YMCA World Council held on July 19โ25, 2026, in Toronto, Canada, which brought together 1,300 delegates from 100 countries. Representing the YMCA of the Philippines alongside her were Mr. Orlando F. Carreon, OICโNGS; Ms. Czieloh Jomea C. Villajin (YMCA of Manila); the Change Agent Cohort 6 members Mr. Ain Art V. Atos (Albay), Ms. Melody E. Quintanilla (Makati), and Atty. Hanniel Saus (Manila), as well as Ms. Ma. Magda Gana, General Secretary of YMCA Makati.
During the event, Ms. Aquino facilitated a small group session on the topic โMaking Sustainability Part of Everyday YMCA Lifeโ together with coalition member Ms. Eleanor Blair of Floridaโs First Coast YMCA. Their session highlighted the Cultivating Action through Responsible Education (CARE) for Climate Project and its global impact.
In addition, Ms. Aquino was one of the presenters along with the fellow implementers in the small group session titled โMore than a Job: Creating Workplaces Where Young Staff and Volunteers Can Thrive.โ As one of the drivers of the 12 Meaningful Work Standards Internal Pilot, she showcased how the standards have strengthened the YMCA of Albay and even the YMCA of the Philippines.
