The “Kabataang Kumakalinga sa Kalikasan” or K*K is a brigade of youth under the organization called Competitive Youth Association (CYA). This was formed to facilitate environmental enforcers in their community in monitoring and implementing cleanliness and beautification of the surroundings prior to MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority) Regulation No. 96-009 entitled, "prohibiting littering/du
mping/throwing of garbage, rubbish or any kind of waste in open or public places, and requiring all owner's, lessees, occupants of residential, commercial establishments, whether private or public to clean and maintain the cleanliness of their frontage and immediate surroundings and providing penalties for violation thereof". The said brigade was extending their advocacy by involving to/and giving a seminar regarding “Climate Change Awareness and Preservation of Environment Seminar (CCAPES)” to educate themselves and other young people to be aware of what’s happening to our mother nature and to teach everyone on how they can help and contribute in a simple but best way on saving our earth today. Moreover, they are also having their consideration of giving protection and concern to all domesticated animals inhabited around the community. To gather all youths with a heart of doing volunteerism to our environment.
2. To educate young people concerning environmental awareness and protection.
3. To minimize solid waste disposal by learning the proper segregations (prior to R.A 9003, or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, in 2013).
4. To develop more ways of finding solutions to alter the improper disposal of
garbage and to turn it into a positive and useful outcome.
5. To encourage other youths participation, to discipline their self and to have responsibility in our environment.
