Meeting Recap 05-09-2026

We celebrate our Moms, a day before Mother's Day, and we have quite a few in our club, including our Club President and Sergeant at Arms, to name a few.

After an energetic ice breaker by Toastmaster Luane, which split the crowd in two, we moved on to the Table Topics hosted by BF Community's Founder and Mother, Distinguished Toastmaster Rema, where six brave individuals took on the challenge of her profound Table Topic questions.

Afterwards, Toastmaster Raymund shared his communication style, and Toastmaster Loise delivered the second speech of her Evaluation and Feedback Project to a crowd positioned where they are at the very center.

It was followed by a ten-minute break, where circumstances would find us moving to the ground part of the venue, but the learning stops even as people come in.

Division P Director Rina, who is a Mother herself, served as our General Evaluator and delivered her evaluation right after the Evaluators and Functionaries did their part, and left us with a verse from Proverbs which reinforced our reverence for and the importance of Mothers in our lives.

We also thank and welcome our guests, Aica and Stephen, for joining us.

Some of us stayed and caught up after the meeting, but regardless, this was an afternoon with all the warmth and care of a Mother.

But you can join our future meetings.

Just send us a message!

Want to make your audience stop and think? Rhetorical questions are a powerful speaking tool when used effectively:

• Ask Questions That Spark Thought – Encourage your audience to reflect internally
• Highlight Key Ideas – Use rhetorical questions to emphasize important points
• Create Emotional Connection – Make your audience feel personally involved in the message
• Avoid Overusing Them – Too many questions can weaken their impact
• Pause After Asking – Give the audience a moment to process the idea
• Use Them for Transitions – Guide listeners smoothly from one point to another
• Match the Tone of Your Speech – Keep questions aligned with the emotion and purpose of your message
• End Strong with One – A final rhetorical question can leave a lasting impression

Sometimes, the most powerful statements come in the form of a question.

Our Next Meeting will be Next Saturday, May 23, 2026. From 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, it will be an online meeting; via Zoom.

Words have power. A single speech can inspire action, spark ideas, build confidence, and change the direction of someone’s life—including your own.

Every time you stand up to speak, you have an opportunity to influence minds, encourage growth, and leave a lasting impact. Whether you're sharing a personal story, leading a discussion, or presenting a vision, your voice has the ability to shape what comes next.

At Toastmasters, we believe that communication is more than a skill—it’s a tool for leadership, connection, and positive change.

💬 Speak with purpose today, because your words may help shape tomorrow.

Our Next Meeting will be Next Saturday, May 23, 2026. From 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, it will be an online meeting; via Zoom.

You are the light of the home, you calm fears and provide warm guidance, the wisdom in your mind forged by the tears in your eyes throughout the years, forging you as the tether to our values, making us strong and keeping us ready, and brave enough to step up to life's challenges every single day.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms!

Hey Ma,

Remember those times when I shared with you the big dreams I had? maybe build a house, limited only by the confines of my sense of wonder, after a while, do you remember my rebellious phase? With adolescent hormones in full bloom, always giving you a headache.

You were there for my graduation, my wedding, saw me having kids of mu own. Now seeing you with predominantly grays in your hair, not being as mobile as you once were. It now falls on me to tuck you in at night, to keep you warm when it's freezing, to take care of you when your sick, and always hope you'll still remember my name as you age further through the years.

A Single sentence can never explain the struggles of a Mother, the Herculean efforts she undertook, and all the stuff she went through so let's celebrate our Moms this Saturdsy afternoon 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Linley's in BFRV.

Send us a message if you want to attend.

Meeting Recap 04-25-2026

Whether it be As Red as an Apple, as Pink as Berries, as Blue as the Sky, as Purple as grapes, or even as Yellow as a pineapple, BFCTMC's online meeting was nothing Typical or Cliched as they say.

Sure, the Sun was out to get us outdoors, but we got to hear each other's speeches, new roles being taken, such as TM Anne taking on the challenge of being the A Counter, and TM Joel being the Table Topics Master. We also had MTMC President Kris join us this afternoon.

Incoming Division P Director, Toastmaster Alvin, served as our General Evaluator, and he has a peaceful yet powerful way of facilitating the evaluation proceedings; in the end, everyone got value, which is much more than the typical Toastmasters Zoom meeting, and we thank him and Past Division B Director Dolly for also being our Grammarian.

This was a hot yet productive afternoon. But you can still join us in the future.

Our Next Meeting will be this coming Saturday, May 9, 2026. From 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, it will be a face-to-face meeting; venue to be announced.

Want your audience fully engaged? Here’s how to hold their attention all the way through:

• Start Strong – Hook them immediately with a question, story, or bold statement
• Be Clear and Focused – Stick to one main message and avoid unnecessary details
• Vary Your Voice – Use tone, volume, and pace to keep things dynamic
• Use Eye Contact – Connect with your audience and make it feel like a conversation
• Tell Stories – Stories are memorable and emotionally engaging
• Involve the Audience – Ask questions or prompt reflection to keep them active
• Use Purposeful Gestures – Reinforce your message with natural body language
• Break It Up – Use transitions, examples, or humor to avoid monotony
• Watch the Time – Keep your speech tight and respect attention spans
• End with Impact – Finish strong so your message stays with them

💡 Engagement isn’t luck—it’s a skill you can build with practice.

Your ideas deserve more than silence—they deserve to be heard.

A vision stays a dream until it’s spoken, shared, and brought to life through your voice. Whether you're leading a team, building a business, or inspiring change, the way you communicate your vision determines how far it can go.

Speaking up isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being clear, authentic, and courageous enough to put your ideas into the world.

At Toastmasters, every speech is a step toward turning your vision into something real—refined through practice, strengthened by feedback, and amplified with confidence.

💬 Don’t keep your vision to yourself. Speak it. Shape it. Share it.

Our Next Meeting will be this Saturday, May 9, 2026. From 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, it will be a face-to-face meeting; venue to be announced.
