We are incredibly proud to see one of our own, Dina Pagkalinawan, featured in Tatler Asia, a premier luxury lifestyle magazine that chronicles the lives of influential leaders and the stories behind their success. A prolific entrepreneur and the CEO of Divipa Group of Companies, Dina is also a psychologist by trade ❤️

After pursuing her Master’s Degree in Psychology here at Southville International School, she now shares her expertise with us as an adjunct professor. Her journey serves as a powerful testament to SDG 4 (Quality Education) through her commitment to being an "eternal student", and sharing her knowledge and expertise to her students, and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through her leadership in the business sector ✨

Congratulations, Prof. Dina!☺️💐

To all CAS students, May 11 to 15, 2026 marks an important milestone as we navigate through our midterm examinations. This week reflects your dedication, perseverance, and hard work. Every lesson learned, every late-night review, and every challenge faced has prepared you for this moment. Let this week be a true testament to your academic growth and commitment to Quality Education (SDG 4) as you showcase everything you have learned. 🧠📖

Please be guided by these essential reminders as you prepare:

Follow your exam schedules (examinations will follow your regular class schedules).
Secure your Test Permits ahead of time.
Wear your complete uniform proudly.
Review well and pray for guidance.

As you study, please remember to pace yourself, rest, and prioritize your mental health amidst the exam stress. True academic success goes hand-in-hand with Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), so don't forget to take deep breaths and sleep.

Take things one step at a time. Stay focused, stay calm, and trust in your preparation. You have come this far, and that alone proves your strength and capability.

Keep pushing. Finish strong. You’ve got this! ✨💪 We are cheering you on. 💗✊

✨Mothering✨ is basically the ultimate main character energy! 👑

The bond between a mother figure and child is the blueprint for our emotional world, acting as the secure base from which we find the courage to explore the universe and the resilience to return when life feels heavy. 🛡️

To those mothers who have been our first teacher, loudest cheerleader, safest place to land, and to those who never hesitated to take the role as a mother to those dear to them: Happy Mother’s Day. Your love isn't just a feeling, as it’s a force of nature that shapes the world through every kind word and selfless act, providing the psychological foundation of empathy and stability that is relied on every day. Thank you for the endless sacrifices, and the quiet strength that keeps a person whole. They have shown that true power lies in nurturing and that a mother's influence reaches far beyond the walls of a home, impacting the mental and emotional well-being of generations to come. Today, we don't just celebrate a person, but the unwavering spirit of care that makes the world a kinder, more resilient place. 🌈

Beyond our personal celebrations, honoring mothers aligns with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by emphasizing the vital importance of maternal mental and physical healthcare for thriving families. This day also reflects SDG 5: Gender Equality, calling for the recognition of unpaid care work and advocating for a world where mothers have equal access to leadership and economic empowerment. ⚖️

So, to our nanay, mama, mommy, mima, mom, and to those we consider as our mothers, Happy Mother’s Day! 🥂💖🌹

“Excellence is built through curiosity, discipline, and the courage to turn ideas into meaningful research.”

At the 5th Consortium of the South Undergraduate Student Research, the College of Arts and Sciences proudly recognizes the outstanding achievement of Gianna Rae G. M***a (BSP4B), who was awarded Best in Quantitative Research for her study titled “Mental Health Help-Seeking Attitudes and Self-Compassion of Philippine National Police First Responders.”

Her work reflects strong methodological excellence and a meaningful contribution to understanding mental health in high-stress professions. Beyond its technical rigor, it highlights urgent societal needs and aligns with key global goals: SDG 3, as it ensures robust mental health support to protect first responder well-being; SDG 16, as it builds a more resilient police force toward safer communities; and SDG 17, as it encourages stronger external partnerships between psychology professionals and the PNP. 💯

With the guidance of Sir Jan Dalawampu, Gianna’s achievement stands as a reflection of perseverance, discipline, and a genuine commitment to research that creates real-world impact.

Your CAS family is deeply proud of you, for the dedication, integrity, and heart you have shown throughout this journey. You continue to embody the spirit of a scholar who not only excels academically but also contributes meaningfully to society 💐
We also recognize Jullianne Jazmine F. Barrion (BSP4B), under the mentorship of Sir Jan Dalawampu, for successfully presenting her research paper “Phubbing Behaviour and Social Provisions among Higher Education Students” at the same prestigious conference. 👏🏻

Once again, congratulations to both Gianna and Jullianne! 🙌

Wishing one of the driving forces behind every successful initiative, Brent Andre Cruz, a very happy birthday! 🥳🎂

As our Funding Committee Co-chair and a dedicated Peer and Academic Member, your commitment, resourcefulness, and leadership play a vital role in turning plans into reality. Your efforts not only strengthen our projects but also uplift the entire community.

May this year bring you more achievements, meaningful connections, and growth in all that you do. 🫡✨

Behind every breakthrough, every building, and every everyday comfort lies the tireless power of the human spirit. 🛠️🏢🤝

Today we pause to honor the dedication, resilience, and ingenuity of workers everywhere who serve as the backbone of our global society. Labor Day is a profound reminder that the progress we enjoy, from the physical infrastructure under our feet to the digital networks connecting our minds, is the direct result of tireless human effort. To the builders, the thinkers, the caregivers, and the innovators: your work matters, your rights are essential, and your contribution is the very heartbeat of our shared journey toward a better tomorrow.

As we celebrate the achievements of the labor movement, we must actively champion SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth to ensure that progress never comes at the cost of human dignity. By advocating for living wages and safe environments, we lay the foundation for a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive through their craft. In tandem with this growth, we remain committed to SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by breaking down the barriers that prevent marginalized communities from accessing fair opportunities. True progress is measured not just by the height of our skyscrapers, but by how equitably we distribute the fruits of our collective labor.

Today, let’s commit to building a global workforce that is as inclusive as it is industrious, ensuring no worker is left behind in our pursuit of a just future. ✊

The Psychology Society invites you to pause, breathe, and reflect as we enter the month of May. Mental health is not just a "Psychology" topic—it is a human priority.

This month, we dedicate ourselves to breaking the silence, shattering the stigma, and fostering a culture where it is okay not to be okay. As future practitioners and advocates of the mind, we believe that mental wellness is the foundation upon which all other successes are built. 🧠✨

In our commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, we emphasize that health is holistic. Protecting our mental space is just as vital as our physical strength. Throughout this month, we encourage every member of the CAS community to check in on one another, practice self-compassion, and remember that seeking help is an act of profound bravery, not weakness. Let’s work together to ensure that no one has to navigate their internal battles alone. 💚🛡️

Whether you are finding balance amidst finals or navigating the complexities of daily life, remember: your story matters, your feelings are valid, and your well-being comes first. Join the Psychology Society this May as we advocate for a world where mental health is championed every single day. 🌟📖
