The Peer Mentors' Organization is the official organization for students who are under the Peer Mentoring Program of the College Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) of Southville International School and Colleges. MISSION: To intensify camaraderie among students through peer holistic assistance. NATURE: The Peer Mentors' Organization came into existence as a service arm of the College CAPS Office and its activities. Among its functions include providing assistance during guidance activities and planning and facilitating these activities that will echo the objectives of the office as a student service and reflect the vision mission of the school and at the same time serves as a link between the students in the classroom and the office itself. The Peer Mentoring Program is dedicated to students who are in need of special attention and concerns. The Program is built on the belief that the regular availability of trained students to listen and offer advice and guidance will greatly assist other colleagues of their own to meet the increasing demands of students’ life. Realizing that a student’s experience involves much more than the classroom and that academic achievement can be influenced for both good and bad by how a student balances the myriad components, peer facilitators are prepared to provide advice and assistance on a variety of issues that might affect them.
