The Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language Department of Lapulapu-Cebu International College officially welcomed the new semester by holding its 1st Semester Orientation on August 11, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the LCIC Tsuneishi Hall.
Led by Department Head Ms. Jennylyn Cui, the orientation focused on important department policies, calendar activities, and the key initiatives and activities lined up for the semester. The program also included a discussion on essential and convenient places near the school, particularly for first-year students as they familiarize themselves with their new academic environment.
The event was attended by the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Renante Payod, who delivered an inspirational message to the BAFL students. Faculty members were also formally introduced, giving students the opportunity to become more acquainted with the individuals who will guide them throughout the academic year.
A significant part of the program was the induction and oath-taking of the newly elected student officers, formally marking the beginning of their service and responsibilities within the department.
Students who recently returned from their Japanese Study Abroad Programs also shared their experiences, offering their fellow BAFL students insights into their time abroad. Adding a cultural highlight to the program, BAFL students showcased their talents through a Wadaiko performance.
With meaningful discussions, new leadership, shared experiences, and cultural performances, the orientation served as a fitting beginning to the new semester. It brought the BAFL community together not only to prepare for the semester ahead, but also to welcome new opportunities for learning, participation, and growth.
Special appreciation is extended to Department Head Ms. Jennylyn Cui, the BAFL faculty members, and the outgoing TSML officers for their time, effort, and dedication in preparing and facilitating the orientation. Their collective efforts contributed greatly to making the event a meaningful and successful start to the semester.
