Aloguinsan Police Arrest R**e Suspect After 8 Years in Hiding

After eight (8) years in hiding, operatives of the Aloguinsan Municipal Police Station successfully arrested a wanted individual by virtue of an Alias Warrant of Arrest for R**e and R**e through Sexual Assault on February 2, 2026, in Purok 3, Barangay Angilan, Aloguinsan, Cebu.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Mardo,” is a 68-year-old construction worker and a resident of Sitio Napo, Barangay Bonbon, Aloguinsan, Cebu.

The arrest was carried out by intelligence operatives of Aloguinsan MPS pursuant to an alias warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 59, Toledo City. The warrant stems from charges for R**e under Article 266-A paragraph 1(d) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to R.A. 8353, with no bail recommended, and R**e through Sexual Assault under Article 266-A paragraph 2 of the Revised Penal Code, with recommended bail set at ₱200,000.00.

Police said the suspect had been evading arrest for eight years before his apprehension.

PCOL ABUBAKAR UDANG MANGELEN JR., Provincial Director of the Cebu Police Provincial Office, commended the arresting team for their persistence and dedication.“This arrest demonstrates the perseverance of our police personnel in tracking down wanted persons, even after several years in hiding. The Cebu PPO remains committed to ensuring that justice is served and that no offender is beyond the reach of the law,” PCOL Mangelen said.

The Cebu Police Provincial Office continues to intensify efforts against wanted persons as part of its sustained campaign to uphold peace and order across the province.
