Pride is not just a celebration, it is a declaration. It is the voice of people who refuse to be erased, regulated, or reduced to silence in a society that claims to be free. Democracy without Pride is incomplete, because it is in Pride that we demand what has long been denied: dignity, equality, and legal recognition of every identity.

The Society of Trans Women of the Philippines stands firm: we demand justice written into law, protection written into policy , and recognition that cannot be debated away. Because a democracy that cannot name and protect its people equally is not yet whole.✨

LGBTQIA RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS. JUSTICE AND FREEDOM FOR EVERYONE. 🏳️‍🌈

Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). With its theme, "At the Heart of Democracy", we are called to build communities where LGBTQIA people are not just tolerated, but protected, respected, and able to live safely and openly.

In the Philippines, many LGBTQIA Filipinos still face discrimination in schools, workplaces, healthcare, and public spaces. While several localities have passed Anti-Discimination Ordinances (ADOs) and policies protecting people from discrimination based on SOGIESC, the country still has no national law that fully protects LGBTQIA people from discrimination.

As we celebrate IDAHOBIT, we continue to call for LGBTQIA-inclusive policies and the passage of the SOGIE Equality Bill.

Let love live and let people be.
