𝟒-𝐇 𝐋𝐀𝐎𝐀𝐆 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 | Empowering the Youth Through Agriculture and Leadership

A significant milestone for the youth sector of Laoag City has been achieved as Hon. Michael Christophe "Mikyong" Agustin, PPSK President of Laoag City and Committee Chairman on Youth and Sports Development of the 13th Sangguniang Panlungsod, successfully passed City Ordinance No. 55, 13SP-2026, also known as the Comprehensive Laoag City Youth Code of 2026. The ordinance aims to strengthen youth participation, leadership, and development by creating programs and opportunities that will empower young Laoagueños to become active partners in nation-building and community progress.

One of the ordinance’s standout features is its strong focus on agriculture and youth empowerment through the support of 4-H Club and agri-based initiatives. The measure promotes scholarships such as “RANIAG ASENSO AGTUTUBO” and “EASY AGRI,” alongside skills training in modern farming technologies and sustainable agricultural practices. It also provides assistance for young farmers and agri-entrepreneurs, encouraging more youth to engage in agriculture not only as a livelihood but as a meaningful avenue for innovation, leadership, and food security.

This initiative reflects the growing commitment of the local government to uplift the agricultural sector by investing in the next generation. Through programs that nurture skills, passion, and opportunities, the ordinance inspires young people to take pride in farming and agribusiness while helping build a more progressive and sustainable future for Laoag City. With stronger youth involvement and community support, the vision of empowering future agricultural leaders continues to flourish.

Yesterday marked the successful conclusion of the 14th City 4-H Youth Camp, and the 4-H Lagui-Sail Organization would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this meaningful event possible.

To all our generous sponsors and supporters, thank you for your kindness and contributions to help create a worthwhile experience for all the campers.

We would also like to sincerely thank the Lagui-Sail Council headed by our Barangay Captain, Rhodalyn Dela Cruz, for your continuous support and encouragement to the youth of Lagui-Sail.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to our dedicated Agricultural Technician (AT), Billy Agustin, for the guidance and assistance extended to our organization throughout the camp preparation and activities. Thank you for always supporting and encouraging the youth of 4-H Lagui-Sail.

To the hardworking organizers, facilitators, volunteers, and the 4-H Federation of Laoag City, thank you for your dedication and commitment in making this camp organized, enjoyable, and inspiring for every participant. Your efforts truly made this event successful.

We proudly congratulate and recognize Justin Jay Asuncion, Joshua Medina, Ianne Nicolas, Hedrick Adriano, Zyann Anika Raboy, Princess Alferez, Danny Asuncion, Jay Jay Menor, Keith Medina, Jemjr Alcausin, and Ryanjake Saducos for their active participation and for proudly representing our barangay during the 14th City 4-H Youth Camp. We are very proud of your enthusiasm, teamwork, and active participation throughout the camp. We hope everything you have learned will continue to inspire you beyond the campgrounds.

To our hardworking 4-H President, Justin Jay Asuncion, thank you for your leadership, and tireless efforts in guiding the organization and ensuring the success of our participation in this year’s youth camp.

We also extend our appreciation to our Secretary, Alyssa Joyce Salvador who is in charge of the organization’s page postings and updates for keeping everyone informed and connected throughout the event.

A special thank you as well to the ever-talented Hedrick Adriano, together with Ianne Nicolas, for handling the makeup and preparations of our candidates during the pageants. Your skill, effort, and dedication helped our representatives shine confidently on stage. 👑💄✨

Though the camp officially ended, the friendships, experiences, and lessons we shared will always remain in our hearts. Together, we celebrated leadership, unity, service, and the true spirit of the 4-H community.
