The Ifugao State University conducted the Joint Closing Ceremony of ROTC and CWTS on 30 April 2026 at the Open Gymnasium, IFSU-Lamut Campus, Nayon, Lamut, Ifugao, marking the culmination of training and community engagement of CWTS students.

The ceremony formally opened with the entrance of colors, followed by the mass singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the IFSU Hymn, setting a solemn and proud atmosphere for the graduates.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Dr. Eva Marie Codamonโ€“Dugyon, UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT, along with CAMPUS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Nathaniel F. Dimog, NSTP DIRECTOR - Dr. Leudane L. Loรฑez, CWTS ADVISER Sir. Pacifico D. Mandolado and distinguished leaders and program heads who witnessed the achievements of the students.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the recognition of outstanding CWTS students who exemplified excellence in community service, leadership, teamwork, and dedication throughout the program. Their contributions in outreach activities, environmental initiatives, RAATI 2026 and civic engagements reflected the true essence of CWTS service to the community. This milestone also highlights the first-ever joint graduation ceremony of NSTP-CWTS and ROTC, making the event even more historic and meaningful.

The ceremony concluded successfully, celebrating the completion of the CWTS program and honoring students who demonstrated commitment to service, unity, and nation-building true reflections of empowered and responsible citizens.

Heart of Service: BS Psychology 1A Brings Smiles to Regimental Elementary School

More than just a requirement for the National Service Training Program (NSTP), the outreach at Regimental Elementary School on March 19, 2026, served as a meaningful bridge between the classroom and the community.

The BS Psychology 1A students of Ifugao State University (IFSU) successfully implemented their initiative, "Enhancing Interpersonal Skills and Group Dynamics in Elementary Students," under the guidance of their director, Pacifico Mandolado. The day was dedicated to 96 young learners, focusing on the developmental importance of teamwork, effective communication, and mutual respect. Through engaging activities like Capture the Flag, Balloon Floats, and Puzzle, the facilitators helped the children experience the power of cooperation firsthand.

This project was rooted in the core mission of the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS): to mold socially responsible leaders through ethical community engagement. By aligning with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), the cohort created a supportive environment that promoted both psychosocial well-being and a love for collaborative learning.

The laughter and the spirit of friendship shared between the student-volunteers and the pupils highlight the profound impact of service-learning. The success of this initiative stands as a testament to the strong partnership between the IFSU community and the faculty of Regimental Elementary School.

The NSTP-CWTS students of Ifugao State University successfully conducted a one-day clean-up drive at Brgy. Hollowon, Lamut, Ifugao. The activity focused on cleaning public areas, promoting proper waste management, and encouraging environmental awareness.

Through teamwork and the spirit of bayanihan, the initiative strengthened community cooperation while creating a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment for all. ๐Ÿ’š

The PROJECT SIGE: FADCHANG PARA SA KALUGUSAN was successfully done on March 17, 2026, and stands as a testament to the dedication and compassion of the BSN 1-C CWTS students from Ifugao State University. What began as a simple proposal turned into a meaningful outreach program at Nayon Elementary School, where health education and literacy support became the bridge between knowledge and service. Guided by CWTS Mentor Mr. Chobert Troy P. Ballogat and NSTP Director Leudane L. Loรฑez, the team transformed their vision into reality. The day unfolded with prayers, inspiring messages, and a series of interactive activities from health education and handwashing demonstrations to storytelling and book distribution that empowered Grade 1 pupils to embrace proper hygiene, nutrition, and the joy of reading. Despite the challenges of a tight schedule, the pupilsโ€™ eagerness and the volunteersโ€™ commitment ensured that every moment was impactful. The return demonstrations revealed that the lessons were well-retained, proving that even small acts of teaching can leave lasting impressions.
As the program ended with heartfelt gratitude and the smiles shared between students, mentors, and children became the true measure of success. PROJECT SIGE reminded us that happiness is not found in grand gestures, but in the simple way of giving an act that nurtures compassion, strengthens responsibility, and encourages others to contribute in the community.
