Important info on El Nino.

El Niño doesn’t mean zero rainfall ☀️

Instead, it disrupts normal climate patterns — fewer cyclones may form, but those that do have a higher chance of becoming typhoons or even super typhoons because of the Pacific’s widespread warming 🌧️

Are you and your family prepared when disaster strikes?

As we kick off the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, the Office of Civil Defense National Capital Region (OCD NCR) invites everyone to join our webinar, “Know Before It Strikes: Earthquake and Tsunami Risk Awareness and Preparedness,” on 01 July 2026, at 9:00 AM, to be streamed live on the Civil Defense NCR page.

Recent earthquake events in various parts of the country serve as a reminder that disasters can occur at any time. Through this webinar, participants will gain valuable knowledge on earthquake and tsunami hazards, understand the risks they pose, and learn practical preparedness and safety measures that can help save lives and reduce disaster impacts.

Disaster resilience begins with awareness and preparedness. This webinar is 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖, and we encourage everyone to take part in this important learning opportunity. Together, let us build a safer, more adaptive, and disaster-resilient nation.
