𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐏 𝐊𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐨𝐥-𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐢𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬

We, the UP Kadugong Bol-anon Cebu Chapter, express our deep concern over the continuous oil price hikes that are severely affecting students, especially those studying away from home.

As Boholano students based in Cebu, we experience firsthand how rising fuel costs translate into higher transportation fares, increased food prices, and escalating daily expenses. For many of us who rely on limited allowances and the hard-earned income of our families back in Bohol, these increases make it more difficult to sustain our education and meet our basic needs.

The burden of these price hikes extends beyond individual students. Our families, already grappling with economic challenges, are further strained as they try to support us from afar. What was once manageable has now become a constant struggle to budget for transportation, housing, food, and academic requirements.

In light of this, we stand in solidarity with the growing calls to address the root causes of rising oil prices. We support calls to review policies that have led to the deregulation of the oil industry, to ease the burden of fuel taxes on consumers, and to implement immediate relief measures for sectors most affected, including students, transport workers, and low-income families.

We believe that access to affordable transportation and basic commodities is essential to ensuring that students can continue their education without undue hardship. As young people and part of a broader community working for accessible education, we call for concrete actions that prioritize the welfare of the Filipino people.

The UP Kadugong Bol-anon Cebu Chapter stands with the people in advocating for solutions that address both the immediate crisis and its long-term structural causes.

We had an absolute blast volunteering at this year’s Acad Fest! Seeing everyone’s passion and hard work was the best kind of exhaustion. A huge thank you to UPKB-DC for inviting us to partner for this event—thank you for trusting our team! 🫶✨

As of November 9, 2025, we received ₱2,860.00 monetary donations for the victims of Typhoon Tino. We would like to thank everyone who has shared their support. The funds will then be turned over to our partner, the National Eagle Scouts Association - San Pedro Calungsod Chapter (NESAPH - SPC), for the ground relief operations.

Last November 4, 2025, Typhoon “Tino” made its landfall in the province of Cebu causing severe flooding and damages across several towns and cities.

Hence, UPKB - Cebu Chapter along with the partnership of National Eagle Scouts Association - San Pedro Calungsod Chapter (NESAPH - SPC) are reaching out to you again to call for donations that aim to support those who are affected by the typhoon.

Being struck by back-to-back calamities from the recent earthquake last September to the typhoon, shows a struggle for the victims to regain footing once again.

You may send your donations through the QR Codes provided. Upon sending, please include "donation" as a note.

Rest assured that a full transparency report of the donations will be disclosed. All proceeds collected will be handed over to the NESAPH - SPC for the necessary on the ground relief operations.

Every donation will surely go a long way in helping the typhoon survivors gain the courage to return back to normalcy.

As promised, the UPKB Diliman, Cebu, and Iloilo Chapters along with it's collaborators shall uphold and disclose full transparency on how the kind donations were used.

Thanks to the overwhelming support, we were able to raise ₱𝟭𝟱,𝟲𝟴𝟴.𝟯𝟵 from both PayMaya and G-cash!

The funds were used to purchase relief goods that were also packed just earlier today, October 6, 2025.

The 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 to the affected areas will be on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. Specifically, we aim to deliver directly to a specific community in San Remegio, Cebu.

Nonetheless, operations are 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗢𝗡-𝗚𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚. Hence, we are still accepting donations and welcoming volunteers to help us transport the relief goods!

Your donations are not simply monetary, they are 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 that will become someone's foundation in rebuilding the life that was destroyed by the 6.9 magnitude earthquake.
