Strengthening Education Through Collaboration: Local School Board Convenes Monthly Meeting

June 15, 2026 – Labo, Camarines Norte

The Local School Board (LSB) of the Municipality of Labo held its monthly meeting on June 15, 2026, bringing together representatives from the local government, the education sector, and various stakeholders in a continuing effort to enhance the quality of education and strengthen support for learners and teachers alike.

The meeting underscored the value of collaboration between the Local Government Unit (LGU), partner organizations, and community stakeholders in addressing the evolving needs of the municipality’s schools. Through open dialogue and coordinated planning, participants discussed strategies aimed at improving educational services and ensuring that resources are directed where they are most needed.

Among the key highlights of the meeting was the discussion on the recruitment of additional teachers through the Provincial Government. These new teaching positions will complement the educators already hired and funded by the Local Government Unit of Labo, helping address classroom shortages and reduce teacher workloads. The initiative is expected to improve student-teacher ratios and provide learners with more focused and effective instruction.

The partnership between the provincial government and the LGU reflects a shared commitment to investing in human capital through education. By expanding the teaching workforce, both levels of government demonstrate their dedication to creating a more conducive learning environment and ensuring that every child has access to quality education.

The Local School Board also reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with stakeholders, recognizing that meaningful progress in education is best achieved through collective action. As Labo continues to strengthen its educational programs, the cooperation among government agencies, educators, civil society organizations, and community partners remains a vital pillar in shaping a brighter future for the municipality’s youth.

The June meeting stands as another testament to the community’s united vision of building an inclusive, responsive, and high-performing educational system that benefits both present and future generations.

A significant step toward strengthening educational development and community collaboration was marked during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the Municipal Grounds of Labo, as the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Labo, under the leadership of Mayor Severino “Jojo” Francisco, facilitated the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Executive and Extended Members of the Local School Board.

The ceremony brought together various stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, highlighting the municipality’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and participatory approach to educational governance. Among those who took part in the event were representatives from the Department of Education, various government agencies, non-government organizations, civil society groups, and community partners who have continuously supported initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education in the municipality.

Representing Sibol at Liwanag sa Buhay was its Executive Director, Randy A. Peregrino, who joined fellow stakeholders in affirming their commitment to work hand in hand with the local government and educational institutions. Their participation underscores the vital role that civic organizations play in complementing government efforts and providing additional resources, expertise, and support to schools and learners.

Mayor Francisco emphasized the importance of collaboration and shared responsibility in addressing the challenges faced by the education sector. Through the strengthened partnership between government agencies, non-government organizations, and civil society groups, the Local School Board aims to create innovative programs and sustainable initiatives that will directly benefit students, teachers, and schools throughout Labo.

The oath-taking ceremony also served as a platform to foster camaraderie, unity, and a common vision among stakeholders. By encouraging greater cooperation and resource-sharing, the municipality seeks to harness the collective strengths of all sectors to ensure that every learner in Labo has access to quality education and opportunities for growth.

As the newly sworn-in members begin their service, the Local School Board is expected to play a pivotal role in formulating policies, recommending educational programs, and supporting projects that will contribute to the continued advancement of the local education system.

The event stands as a testament to Labo’s unwavering commitment to educational excellence and community empowerment, demonstrating that meaningful progress is best achieved when government, civil society, and the private sector work together toward a common goal—the brighter future of Labo’s youth.
