On International Museum Day, we celebrate museums as living keepers of memory—spaces where history breathes through artifacts, stories, and cultural expressions. In every preserved object lies the identity of a people, revealing the many layers, struggles, traditions, and transformations that shape society. As we walk through these halls of heritage, we are reminded that culture is not singular; it is a mosaic of voices, histories, and experiences woven across time.

“Takahin ang Direksiyon”

We do not just inherit culture—we defend it, live it, and pass it on. National Heritage Month reminds us that our identity is worth protecting, our stories are worth telling, and our future must remain rooted in who we are. Now is the time to stand for our heritage and take direction toward a future grounded in our shared past.

As the lights dim across the Cordilleras tonight, we are reminded that change does not always begin with grand gestures; it often starts with a single, conscious act.

This 8:30 PM, KASANDIWA stands in solidarity with communities around the world in observing Earth Hour 2026, a moment that calls us to pause, reflect, and act for the future of our planet. Beyond the symbolic switch-off, this initiative speaks to a deeper responsibility: to protect, preserve, and sustain the environment that sustains us.

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals —SDG 13 Climate Action and SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production —this collective action reminds us that sustainability isn't a one-hour commitment; it's a lifelong discipline.

Let us move beyond awareness into practice. Let us carry this hour into our everyday choices, our communities, and our shared future.

Lights off, voices strong.

The Cordilleras stand—not in darkness, but in purpose.
