Season 2 Episode 18: Why did God let Israel be Conquered?

On the 5th of February 2025, the Rotaract Club of La Trinidad-Sharelife Community, along with some youths from the community, gathered at Upper Riverside, Balatoc, Virac, Itogon, Benguet, for the eighteenth episode of the second season of the RotaTalks Series. The activity featured a learning session entitled “Why did God let Israel be Conquered?" which tackles the reasons why Israel was conquered back then.

God let the Israelite, His chosen people, to be conquered because of their sins, their disobedience and because they forgot Him. But still, God was faithful to them. In Jeremiah 29:10, it says that God will come to them after seventy years and fulfill His promise to them. He was still faithful to keep His promise, although the Israelites has to wait for 70 long years.

1. God made His plan known to His people
- We will have joy because we know His promise that He will come back again. We know that He has a plan for us.

2. God is not a man that He should lie.
- He is faithful that He will fulfill His promise to us. As John 15:5 says, we can do nothing without God

3. To encourage us to continue our walk with God
- Hebrews 10:25 says, “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

4. To open our eyes and minds to look different things
- Even through the problems we face, we should look to God. Looking at the problem will only make you think more of the problem. Instead, we should look to God, the author and finisher of our lives for we know that He will help us get through.

5. To give us boldness to come to God
- When he gives us a plan, we get the boldness to talk to God.

6. God opened the door for us to come boldly to His throne
- We should seek His throne at all times just as Mathew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

The night ended with gems of learnings which will surely equip and motivate the young leaders.

The RotaTalks Project highlights the role of the Rotaractors as a guide to their fellow youths in the community through talks and as an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, adhering to 1 Timothy 4:12.

Season 2 Episode 16: Patience in the process of God’s Plan

On the 22nd of January 2025, the Rotaract Club of La Trinidad-Sharelife Community, along with some youths from the community, gathered at Upper Riverside, Balatoc, Virac, Itogon, Benguet, for the sixteenth episode of the second season of the RotaTalks Series. The activity featured a learning session entitled "Patience in the process of God’s Plan," which tackles about having patience while waiting for God’s plan.

A process requires patience, for all the things that God is doing, one requirement is patience. Beautiful things require time just like how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly only after going through a long process.

As James 1:2-4 states, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

When you asked God for patience, it does not magically pour out on you in that instant. God will bring you in a situation that will serve as an opportunity to develop patience. You are looking at your delays and frustrations as annoyance but it’s your growth agent. So we should wait patiently for the perfect time and believe that God is perfect and He will give the answer to our prayers in the perfect time.

SURRENDERING MY I CAN'T TO GOD
- Surrendering our limitations to God means that we know and acknowledge that we as humans have our limitations. We cannot do and we cannot control everything and so we must surrender these things to God.

1. Understand what Surrender means
- Trust in Him in everything, let God be in control

2. Understand our weaknesses
- Know that having a weakness is normal and that with God all things are possible

What happens if I trusted on God's power rather than my own abilities?
THE POWER OF GOD CAN
- Surrendering to God lets us tap into the infinite power of God

STEPS TO SURRENDER
1. Be Honest with God

- Ask God to empower you

4. We act on Faith

Season 2 Episode 20: In God’s Perfect Time

On the 19th of February 2025, the Rotaract Club of La Trinidad-Sharelife Community, along with some youths from the community, gathered at Upper Riverside, Balatoc, Virac, Itogon, Benguet, for the twentieth episode of the second season of the RotaTalks Series. The activity featured a learning session entitled "In God’s Perfect Time," which reminds us that only God has the perfect time.

“If it’s not in God’s time, you cannot force it. If it’s His time you cannot stop it. So, you’re not late, you’re not early. You are very much in time.” This was the heart of the message that served as a powerful reminder to everyone that everything is made perfect in God’s time.

And while waiting for God’s perfect time we should:
1. Never stop praying (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
- While waiting for the answer to our prayer, we should not stop praying and not rush for impatience can delay the answers.

2. Endure hardships (2 Timothy 2:3)
- It is normal for everyone to face hardships but what matters most is how we face it. Being a Christian is not an escape to problems, but being a Christian means that we know the battle is not ours, but God’s.

3. Remember what the Lord has done (1 Chronicles 16:12)
- When in doubt, we must remember all the things that God has done for us. One thing that does not go our way does not mean that we should question God. All our lives He has been there for us and we must believe that He has gotten us out of different situations and He can do it again.

4. Be grateful always (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
- Always thank the Lord for everything. In bad times, thank You Lord, in the good times, thank You Lord.

5. Keep Trusting (Psalm 13:5)
- Trust is our reliance on God's ability character and strength. It shows that we have faith and believe that He has the power to do anything.

6. Worship (Psalm 13:6)
- Let our lives be our worship to the Lord. Our simple deeds and everyday acts must reflect who God is and show His glory and love that He has displayed.

On the 29th of January 2025, the Rotaract Club of La Trinidad-Sharelife Community, along with some youths from the community, gathered at Upper Riverside, Balatoc, Virac, Itogon, Benguet, for the seventeenth episode of the second season of the RotaTalks Series. The activity featured a learning session entitled "Hindrances," which tackle lessons on some hindrances to personal and spiritual growth.

1. Fear of the future (Isaiah 41: 10, Matthew 6: 34)
- Although the future is uncertain, knowing that God is on our side always gives us the assurance

2. Shame and pain in the Past (Isaiah 43: 18 – 20)
- We should not let our past define us. Everybody makes mistakes, and rather than letting those mistakes define us, we can use them to improve ourselves.

3. Validation and approval of others (Galatians 1:10)
- Sometimes we find solace in knowing that other people like us and sometimes we do some stupid things in order to win their approval. Instead of worrying about what other people think of us, we should concentrate on doing good and pleasing God.

4. Doubt in God’s plan (Jeremiah 29:11)
- There are things we want that we cannot get and we sometimes question and doubt God. We often forget that praying for something does not automatically mean that God will give it. That is why when we pray, we should pray for what God wants and less of what we want. God has a plan for us and it is the best.

5. Your need to control things (Proverbs 3:5)
- Most of the time, we would say that something is good because it is the way we want it. Many things are really uncontrollable and we still try to control it, which leads to stress and problems. Instead of controlling, we should surrender. Surrendering to God and letting Him be in control is the best solutions to problems we face.

6. Negative talking (Colossians 4:6)
- The words we say reflects what is inside our hearts and it is also true that the things we often say manifests themselves, affecting our lives. Always thinking and saying negative things can cause us to also feel negative. So instead of always looking at the bad side, we should opt to be positive.

7. Anxiety (Philippians 4: 6-7)
- As stated in Philippians 4:6-7, we should cast our anxieties to God for He cares for us. Instead of worrying, we pray. We pray that things will get better and pray that we might see the reason behind what is happening.

8. Comparison to others (2 Corinthians 10:12)
- People are unique, we each have our own strengths and weaknesses. We do not need to be the best at everything and we do not need to compare ourselves to others.

The night ended with gems of learnings which will surely equip and motivate the young leaders.

The activity featured a learning session entitled "Believing in God," which reminds us that even through troubles, God is with us.

1. Let your life be a living prayer
- Prayer is one way of communicating with God. We pray so that our plans will be aligned with His will, not the other way around.

2. Delay is not denial
- Believing in God means that we trust Him fully and not doubt in Him. Sometimes we cannot immediately see the things we prayed for and it saddens us. God has a perfect timing and we must believe and trust in Him.

3. Silence does not mean absence
- There will be times that we do not get what we want straight away. It does not mean that God is absent or that He does not care for us. We should learn to wait for our prayer in confidence for waiting is a preparation for the things to come.

4. Make God our daily bread, not a cake for occasions
- We must acknowledge God in everyday of our lives, not just when we need something. Worship is a lifestyle, meaning that God should be seen in everything we do, be it at school, church or workplace.

5. God works in us, bit by bit
- We need to constantly seek God not just in the bad. We need to seek Him intentionally and not occasionally. Do not expect God to be your peace when the world is your satisfaction.

6. Be recognizable to God, not to the world
- We say we know God but are we confident that God knows us? We must strive to be known to God not by others. Doing the right thing for the glory of God and not for men.

Luke 15:1-7 tells a story about a shepherd who left his ninety-nine sheep just to find the one lost sheep.

Lessons from the Parable:

1. Jesus goes after the lost. / He pursues the lost.
- Jesus is our shepherd. He faithfully keeps on searching for us and calling us to Himself. He wants to draw us back into His arms. Jesus wants to save those who sin. The fact that God eagerly searches for each and every sinner shows His extravagant love for each of us.

2. We are all worth it in the eyes of God.
- For Him, we are all worth it. We are worth the effort to be saved. We are of great value to Him.

3. He welcomes us with open arms and celebrates our return.

1. What does it mean to 'seek God first'? ( Matthew 6:33 )
2. What does God mean when He says ' My grace is sufficient for you'? ( 2 Corinthians 12:9 )
3. How can you 'count it all joy' when you fall into various trials? ( James 1:2 )
4. What does it mean that 'it is no longer I that lives, but Christ who lives in me'? ( Galatians 2:19 )
5. How can we 'bear one another's burdens'? ( Galatians 6:2 )

The speaker concluded by stating that seeking God first means putting Him first above all else. With this, we can see how the grace of God is with us that even through trials, we can always find joy in them because we know and that He is always with us, guiding and protecting us. As we journey with God, we also grow more in faith and be Christ-like, accepting that it is no longer us who lives but Christ who lives in us.
