RotaTalk Series
Season 2 Episode 18: Why did God let Israel be Conquered?
On the 5th of February 2025, the Rotaract Club of La Trinidad-Sharelife Community, along with some youths from the community, gathered at Upper Riverside, Balatoc, Virac, Itogon, Benguet, for the eighteenth episode of the second season of the RotaTalks Series. The activity featured a learning session entitled “Why did God let Israel be Conquered?" which tackles the reasons why Israel was conquered back then.
God let the Israelite, His chosen people, to be conquered because of their sins, their disobedience and because they forgot Him. But still, God was faithful to them. In Jeremiah 29:10, it says that God will come to them after seventy years and fulfill His promise to them. He was still faithful to keep His promise, although the Israelites has to wait for 70 long years.
1. God made His plan known to His people
- We will have joy because we know His promise that He will come back again. We know that He has a plan for us.
2. God is not a man that He should lie.
- He is faithful that He will fulfill His promise to us. As John 15:5 says, we can do nothing without God
3. To encourage us to continue our walk with God
- Hebrews 10:25 says, “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
4. To open our eyes and minds to look different things
- Even through the problems we face, we should look to God. Looking at the problem will only make you think more of the problem. Instead, we should look to God, the author and finisher of our lives for we know that He will help us get through.
5. To give us boldness to come to God
- When he gives us a plan, we get the boldness to talk to God.
6. God opened the door for us to come boldly to His throne
- We should seek His throne at all times just as Mathew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
The night ended with gems of learnings which will surely equip and motivate the young leaders.
The RotaTalks Project highlights the role of the Rotaractors as a guide to their fellow youths in the community through talks and as an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, adhering to 1 Timothy 4:12.
The talks will be a home where the youth can draw strength, peace, comfort, validation, and confidence to face the world with rooted discipline and an unshakeable faith in God.
