𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶

O God of Life, in these moments of fear and uncertainty, we turn to You in prayer. We lift up to You our brothers and sisters in Davao Oriental and all other affected areas—grant them safety, courage, and strength.

Watch over every life — the children, the elderly, women, and men. Fill their hearts with peace and hope. May the government and all concerned institutions bring timely assistance to those who are most in need.

Amid these disasters, remind us that Your creation is sacred. Teach us to be responsible stewards of the earth, to stop harmful practices, and to work for justice for both creation and our neighbors.

Lord, be our Shelter and Strength in this time of trial. We pray in the name of Christ, our Hope. Amen.

Prayer for the Victims of the Earthquake in Visayas

Source of Life and Compassion, We gather our hearts for the people of Cebu and the whole of Visayas who are suffering because of the earthquake.

We remember with love those who have lost their lives, and we hold close the families and communities who now grieve. May they find comfort, strength, and solidarity in the embrace of others.

We lift up those who have lost their homes and livelihoods. May help and support come swiftly from the government, institutions, and caring neighbors, so that hope may be restored and lives rebuilt.

We also remember the gift of creation. Remind us that the earth is fragile and sacred. Guide us to care for nature with respect, knowing that our well-being is bound together with the well-being of all living things.

In this time of sorrow, may compassion overcome fear, may unity be stronger than despair, and may love lead us to rise again together.

Amen.

The search continues for Mr. Nardo Cariño, a member of UCCP Talingguroy, who went missing after being buried in a landslide during the height of Typhoon Crising on July 24. As of today, he has yet to be found. The Highland Conference DRRM Committee with the UCM and UCWO led today’s digging efforts in hopes of locating him.

Please continue to pray that he will be found soon, and lift up his family in prayer as they endure this uncertain and painful time.

May God continue to give strength and comfort to his loved ones as they wait in hope.

The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Committee of the Highland Conference convened its first regular meeting on July 11, 2025 at UCCP Highland Conference Office, marking a significant step in the Conference's commitment to proactive disaster preparedness and resilience-building.

We are not only preparing for the unexpected, but we are also building a culture of safety and resilience grounded in our faith and our shared responsibility to one another.
