LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET โ The annual Mathematics Month celebration reached its crescendo yesterday as students and faculty gathered at the CAS-LT for the Math Week 2026 Closing Program. The event, co-hosted by the iSipnayan Society (IS) and the Preservice Mathematics Educators (PresMathEd) Society, served as the final chapter of a month-long showcase of numerical prowess and community engagement.
The program commenced with an opening prayer led by Rey Mahgit, followed by patriotic tributes and the university hymn. Frances Caye M. Nombre, Chairperson of the iSupnayan Society, delivered the opening remarks, setting a tone of pride and reflection for the attendees.
The afternoon transitioned into a display of wit and humor. Glenn Mar Balanta, Vice Chairperson of the iSipnayan Society, presented the Math Meme Contest entries, while Joven M. Fos-oy assisted participants during the lively Math Pick-Up Line Challenge. Following these presentations, the Chairperson of the iSipnayan Society, provided a summary of the month's activities, highlighting the successful outreach and academic initiatives conducted throughout March.
The highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of certificates and medals, led by the Mathematics Department Chairperson, Dr. Serano L. Oryan. In the premier academic event, the Union Cup 2026: Inter-College Quiz Show, Team Pagod Na emerged as champions. They were followed by Team โญ dxdydz in second place and the Mathemagicians in third.
