𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 || CHEM 3-A Empowers Future Scientists at Kibungan National High School 🧑‍🔬

On 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐒 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐌 students travelled to 𝐊𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 in Poblacion Kibungan, Benguet. During their visit, they conducted a community outreach program for Senior High School students from Grades 11 to 12.

The 3rd Year students brought science to life by creating a day of experimentation and discovery with the high school students. They showed the students multiple experiments and equipment used in a laboratory. The goal enrich Senior High School students’ knowledge with concepts and skills that may be beneficial in their future college courses, particularly in science-related fields..

For the Grade 12 students the activities helped them learn things that will be useful when starting college especially for those in the feild of Science. Grade 11 students learned certain skills that will help them when they do experiments in the future.

The BS CHEM students made sure everyone participated with enjoyment and interest in the activities. Through guided simulation activities, participants were able to independently perform experiments with assistance, promoting active learning, and critical thinking.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || Chemistry meets Community at CHEM 1-A NSTP Outreach ⚗️

𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐌 𝟏-𝐀 students came together on 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐲 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 to conduct their NSTP outreach titled "𝐒𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐭𝐢 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐘 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐢𝐭𝐢 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧”.

The program officially started at 8:30 AM in the morning. After the initial preparations, an opening prayer and opening remarks were followed by a Zumba session. After the orientation, the BS CHEM students facilitated games such as the boat-is-sinking and Chinese relay. Snacks were then passed to all the students after a round of games.

Subsequently, the BS CHEM students safely showcased experiments for the students to learn science and chemistry in real-life applications. Once all the experiments were finished, the students all gathered for a shared lunch.

The program concluded at 1:00 PM with the closing remarks. Certificates of appreciation and tokens were distributed to the participants and project heads, marking the end of the event.

The successful outreach program was all thanks to the students of CHEM 1-A and their NSTP instructor, Ma'am Kaite Laine Bacasen from the Department of Chemistry, as well as the faculty of Talinguroy Elementary School for permitting the outreach to be held at their school.

𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐇 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 || 🌏

The 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 encourages all kapwa-chems to take part in the 𝟔𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐫 this 2026. Earth Hour is a moment to switch off lights for an hour to allow nature to see less light pollution for an hour. Supporters of Earth Hour are also encouraged to do something for the earth as well.

𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐃!

𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 officially ended on February 13, 2026, with the Career Orientation Seminar and team-building activities. Featuring the career orientation's guest speaker 𝐌𝐚'𝐚𝐦 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐌. 𝐓𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐢 with a discussion on Forensic Chemistry and the opportunities in the field. The impacts of chemistry on the justice system were highlighted in the event and gave encouragement to the attendees towards future job prospects.

The following afternoon session was the team-building activity for the chemistry department, demonstrating the importance of unity and togetherness between our kapwa-chems. Puzzles, strategies, and many surprises made the Chemmunity closer as a team, with each giving their best.

Coming to a close, the chemistry department officially ended the event during the awarding ceremony to give thanks to each year level, students, and faculty for their participation and effort for this year's event.

The Midterm season of the second semester finally wrapped up! After two weeks of lab and lec exams held on February 23 to March 6, our fellow Kapwa Chems pushed through the countless review sessions & late nights.

Congratulations for surviving Midterms Szn! Your hard work and resilience brought you one step closer to the final chapter of the school year.

On February 12 2026 the Chemistry Department opened its doors to Senior High School Students in their Open House Exhibits.
Officially starting at 8:00 AM, the BS Chem students came together to guide the guests and visitors around the Laboratory and Forensic Plaza to actively engage in the experiments.

The Open House was conducted in two rounds, a morning session for the students of 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, and an afternoon session for the students of 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥.

The Chemistry Society Junior is grateful to all the Year Levels who made the Open House Exhibits possible: The First Years for catering the ChemKitchen, the Second Years for the Soda Pop, Photobooth, and Murder Mystery, and the Third and Fourth Years, for every experiment conducted in the Lab.

Furthermore, the Society thanks every student from 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 & 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 who took part in the Open House Exhibits, as well as our Guest Teachers who made this possible.

Forty years ago, the course of history was shaped by the courage of the Filipino people during the 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 to make a collective push for democracy. This defining moment showed the power of unity to restore democratic institutions and mark the end of the Marcos regieme.

The 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐉𝐫. holds great value to integrity and democracy. These same principles guided millions of Filipinos who stood along 𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞 in 1986, proving that collective action rooted in hope and accountability can transform a nation.

Even after Four decades, we honor this catalyst of change to carry on this responsibility as students and future chemists. As we in our feild have the duty to think critically and stand for what is right. All of our contributions to society may lead us to a future of peace, justice, and truth.

Up to the present, may we continue to spark change both in our laboratories and in our communities.

Now that the case has been closed after the conclusion of Bagsikan 2026, the Chemistry Society Junior would like to show our appreciation to 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 for scoring a monumental 𝟕𝟕 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 total! After numerous rounds of questions, the story has been uncovered, revealing the truth behind the case of the Oroborus Catalyst.

Detectives and Forensic Chemists worked together in solving the mystery of the 𝐎𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐭 in the 2026 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐧 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐳 𝐁𝐞𝐞.

The Bagsikan started at 9:30 AM for the elimination rounds, where the introduction to the case and general quiz bee were conducted.
Only 10 teams proceeded to the final rounds to decide the official name of the Detective.

The Chemistry Society Junior would like to thank all of the participants who took part in the event and the audience who also participated in finding the true murderer of the case. Furthermore, a huge shoutout to the facilitators of the event, namely, Joshua Galwago, Ma'am Samantha Tipayno, Sir Kenneth Arroco, and Ma'am Hilarae Villena.
