IS THERE ANY HOPE, FOR A GREEN FUTURE TO COPE?

I. Introduction:

The Green Future is a picture of a safe, healthy, and better environment, were in contrast of today in which there many cases about the harmful effects of Pollution around the world. Pollution is one of the human-made issue that further threatens lives of humans, animals and the environment. If remain unminimized, the hope for a better future will lessen, as the condition of our planet gets worse. There are many specific types of pollution, but for this paper we will focus on three main types: air pollution, water pollution and land pollution and we will include several solutions on how to minimize them.

The vision of this concept paper is to further improve the health and lives of humans, animals and the condition of the environment by following the clean and green protocols in reducing waste. To promote a continuous solution, as the first step in minimizing the problem. The mission of this concept paper is to inform and create social awareness about the harmful effects caused by the pollution, as well as to encourage viewers to perform the provided solutions, in reducing the harmful waste. The goal of this concept paper is to inform how impactful is the pollution in harming the lives of humans and the environment. Furthermore, we will include the reasons why do we need to follow the proper activities in solving this problem.

The main problem, we want to solve is the continuous increase of the waste pollution by years, and the most factor of this is because most humans didn't act in minimizing the harmful effects. Which is our purpose in writing this concept paper to encourage you, to help in reducing the waste for the health and safety of your community, country or surrounding area. Think of the situations in places, where people experienced the worst results of pollution to human lives. Then in contrast to places, who promoted and performed the law to maintain a clean environment; only 7 countries out of 137 that meet World Health Organization air quality limits. Finland for example, there are few inhabitants and little traffic among main roads, and they have also managed to minimize industrial emissions, as well as good cleaning methods, and industrial processes operate with clean technology. We are providing the point of such impactful results if people are united for the same reason in creating a better, healthy and sustainable environment for all.

There are many benefits papers the viewers can gain by just simply reading this paper. One is to be aware of the harmful effects humans can experience if there are no recycled bottles, releasing high gas emissions, unproper waste disposal, littering etc. as well as beneficial results if humans don't litter; reuse, recycle, and reduce waste, cycling instead of driving etc. Another is a possibility to be encouraged to participate in cleaning programs or simply perform those activities individually. Which results into specific benefits that includes gaining safe and clean resources, rebuilding proper habitats for animals, end the decreasing population of species, a safer air quality for vulnerable people and others; all for the green and sustainable future.

II. Purpose:
We have chosen this problem to solve, which specifically states the major increase of waste pollution by years and among the reasons is because most humans don't participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the environment. To encourage viewers in ways by delivering this information and reasons as to why people are needed to perform a small change. For we have read and considered the harmful effects of pollution, as well as the worser results if it remains unminimized. We have realized by the situations of other places experiencing pollution, how important it is to maintain the cleanliness of the environment that even in the smallest communities can make best beneficial results for the better future. With this information we gathered to share to you and hope you will start joining the reduction of waste pollution.
In conclusion, to solve the major increase of waste by years and that most humans who don’t not participate are among the reasons of the problem. We encourage viewers to join in minimizing the harmful impact of pollution for maintaining the cleanliness of the environment.

III. Description:
According to an article by Gaur & Yadav (2024), environmental pollution continually increases day by day while releasing severe damages to the world. Many factors include urbanization, technical development have endangered the air, water and soil of the environment due to the release of hazardous wastes from factories. Eight to 12 million tons of it enter global oceans annually, where it kills marine life, piles into enormous garbage patches, and crumbles into microplastics that resurface in drinking water. In the next 10 years, the waste that slides into waterways, and ultimately the oceans, will reach 22 million tons and possibly as much as 58 million tons a year. as rapidly increasing production of disposable plastic products overwhelms the world’s ability to deal with them. Humans discard huge amounts daily: more than 40% of all non-fiber plastic becomes packaging, most of which is single use. Most of this waste, even if it was intended for recycling, goes to landfills, or is incinerated or exported—often to countries that don't have the infrastructure to prevent it from winding up in water systems. Less than 10% of discarded plastics are recycled, partially because many plastic products, like flexible films used in potato chip bags, are laminated with non-recyclable materials. Plastics are durable, which is problem as it can extend the life of products if they become litter, with some estimates ranging to at least 400 years to break down. A 2019 report from the Center for International Environmental Law projects that the industry will release up to 1.34 billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually by 20306—about equal to the emissions of the entire continent of Africa today. That's why some governments have taken steps to limit or ban the use of plastic bags. Most recently, California passed legislation to ban all plastic bags by 2026.Additionally, one of the main goals of the NPI is to encourage facilities to use cleaner production techniques to reduce substance emissions and decrease waste.

Water is a natural resource, essential for life on Earth. It plays a part in all our daily activities, necessary for eating, washing and drinking, but also for social and technological activities. Every year, water unfit for human consumption makes around a billion people unwell. Diseases transmitted by contaminated water include cholera giardia and typhoid fever. To prosper, healthy ecosystems depend on a complex network of animals, plants, bacteria and fungi, all of which interact directly or indirectly among themselves World Bank said in a report that the deterioration of water quality worldwide was drastically reducing the economic potential of highly polluted areas. The following programs are the solutions to minimize the plastics and water pollution. The new findings were made by a team of scientists funded by the National Science Foundation through the University of Maryland’s National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC). The other project, which looks ahead to 2040, was led by the Pew Charitable Trusts and SYSTEMIQ, a London-based environmental advisory and investment firm, and was first made public in July. Both projects also concluded that plastic waste could be significantly reduced, though not eliminated, using existing technologies. That includes improving waste collection and recycling, redesigning products to eliminate packaging made from unrecyclable plastics, expanding refillable, and in some cases substituting other materials. But solutions such as recycling, now globally hovering around 12 percent. The consequences are terrible both for water and the biodiversity living in it. Shut off the tap and save water when you don’t need to use it.

Pollution control is the responsibility of state and territory environment agencies. In the energy sector, pollution prevention approaches include increasing efficiency in energy use, use of environmentally benign fuel sources. In the agricultural sector, pollution prevention approaches include reducing the use of water and chemical inputs; Adoption of less environmentally harmful pesticides or cultivation of crop strains with natural resistance to pests; and protection of sensitive areas. In the industrial sector, examples of prevention practices include: Modifying a production process to produce less waste, using non-toxic or less toxic chemicals as cleaners, implementing water and energy conservation practices, reusing materials .In homes and schools examples of P2 practices include: Using reusable water bottles instead of throw-aways repairing leaky faucets and hoses, and switching to "green" cleaners. Moreover, The UN Environment Programme, for example, is currently working to create an internationally binding agreement focused on ending plastic pollution. Nearly 130 countries have plastic regulations, ranging from bans on certain types of plastics and plastic products, to laws mandating that producers ensure a certain rate of recycling or responsible disposal.
