Our heroes did not sacrifice their lives so that future generations would remain silent in the face of injustice, corruption, or indifference. They dreamed of a nation where every Filipino could speak freely, demand accountability, and stand with dignity.

As we celebrate Independence Day, let us remember: freedom is not only the right to praise our nation, it is also the right to challenge it to become what it was always meant to be.

The greatest tribute we can offer our heroes is not our applause, but our courage to continue the unfinished work of building a Philippines worthy of their sacrifice.
