In line with the intensified campaign against illegal drugs and the promotion of a drug-free community, personnel of the ๐’๐ž๐ง๐š๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ข๐ง๐จ๐ฒ ๐€๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ง๐จ ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐œ๐ข๐ฉ๐š๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, under the supervision of ๐๐Œ๐€๐‰ ๐€๐‘๐๐„๐‹ ๐ ๐‹๐„๐†๐€๐ƒ๐€, Chief of Police, conducted an Information and Awareness Lecture on Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, at Barangay Nati Gymnasium, Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat.

The lecture was facilitated by ๐๐‚๐ฉ๐ฅ ๐€๐ข๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐ž ๐“. ๐ƒ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฆ, who discussed the salient provisions of RA 9165, the harmful effects of illegal drugs, and the vital role of the youth and community in preventing drug abuse and maintaining a safe environment. The discussion also emphasized the legal consequences of involvement in illegal drug activities and encouraged participants to become advocates of a drug-free lifestyle.

The activity aimed to enhance public awareness, particularly among the youth, on the dangers posed by illegal drugs and to strengthen community participation in the government's anti-drug campaign. The activity aimed to educate the public on the harmful effects and legal consequences of selling and using smuggled ci******es, in accordance with Republic Act No. 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act) and Republic Act No. 10643 (Graphic Health Warnings Law).

During the conduct of store inspections, several store owners voluntarily surrendered suspected smuggled ci******es with an estimated total value of โ‚ฑ3,593.88. The items were found to have no Graphic Health Warnings and BIR tax stamps.

All surrendered items were brought to SNA MPS for proper documentation and will be turned over to the Bureau of Customs in General Santos City for appropriate disposition.
