The Pain of Being Poor, Especially When Your Own Relatives Mock You
Not everyone who dreams of becoming rich is chasing luxury. For some, money means security, peace of mind, and the ability to give their family a better life.
As Regine Velasquez shared, she never really cared about becoming famous when she was younger. All she wanted was to have enough money to provide for her family and escape the difficult situation they were in. What hurt her even more was being mocked for being poor, especially when the people doing it were her own relatives.
The truth is, poverty does not only bring financial struggles. It can also bring shame, insecurity, and the painful feeling of being treated as less important than others. Sometimes, the people you expect to understand your struggles are the same people who make you feel small.
But here is an important lesson: there is nothing shameful about being poor, and a person's worth should never be measured by the money they have.
At the end of the day, you do not have to become rich just to silence those who look down on you. Work toward the life you deserve, not to get revenge, but to free yourself from the struggles, limitations, and judgments that once held you back.
