A momentous day for Mother Earth! Last April 13, 2024, the NDMU-IBED SHS Department, in collaboration with the Save Mother Earth Movement Club, Marist Avenue, Kumintang Dance Troupe, and Himig at Liriko Club, conducted an impactful outreach program at Salkan Elemtary School. The Save Mother Earth Movement Club (SMEM) conducted a seminar on waste management, emphasizing the importance of segregation and the avoidance of plastics. These are vital components in establishing a more sustainable world, aligning with one of the Marist Core Values - the integrity of creation. Because everything is possible and all things are feasible when we work together, let us learn how to clean up our planet, one small step at a time. ♻️

🌍 Happy Earth Day 2024! 🌍

Today, we come together to celebrate the magnificent beauty of our planet, our shared home. But it's not just about celebration, it's also a day of reflection and action. We are reminded of the urgent need to protect and preserve the Earth, not just for us, but for generations to come.

Our Mother Earth has nourished us with her bounty - the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the beauty we enjoy. It's our turn to give back. Here are some ways we can contribute:

1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Our consumption patterns matter. Let's aim to reduce our waste, reuse what we can, and recycle responsibly. Every bit counts!

2. Plant a Tree: Trees are the lungs of our planet. They clean our air, provide homes for countless species, and contribute to our health and wellbeing. Planting a tree is a gift to the Earth that keeps on giving.

3. Conserve Water: Water is life. By making small changes like turning off the tap while brushing or fixing leaks promptly, we can save a significant amount of this precious resource.

4. Switch to Renewable Energy: The sun, wind, and water are powerful sources of clean and renewable energy. Let's harness these for a sustainable and green future.

5. Educate and Advocate: Knowledge is power. Let's educate ourselves and others about environmental issues and advocate for policies that protect our planet.

This Earth Day, let's remember that every action, no matter how small, can make a difference. Let's pledge to do our part, not just today, but every day. After all, every day is Earth Day!

🌍 Happy Earth Day 2024! 🌍

Today, as we stand on the brink of a new dawn, we come together to celebrate the life-giving force that is our planet, our shared home. Earth Day is not just about celebration, it's a call to action, a reminder of our collective responsibility to protect and preserve the Earth for ourselves and for generations yet unborn.

Our Mother Earth, in her infinite wisdom, has provided us with everything we need to thrive - the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the natural beauty that nourishes our souls. Today, we take a moment to express our gratitude for these gifts and to reaffirm our commitment to giving back.

Did you know?

The Save Mother Earth Movement (SMEM) Club is a dedicated group that works tirelessly to educate, protect, and promote awareness on how to save our mother Earth due to climate change. They advocate for the use of renewable resources of energy and less reliance on fossil fuel.

This movement is part of a larger effort in the Philippines, where numerous environmental organizations work hard to preserve and safeguard the country’s natural splendor.

Did you know that the Earth travels through space at an average velocity of 67,000 miles per hour? Despite this incredible speed, it takes 365.25 days for the Earth to complete one orbit around the Sun. This is why we have a leap year every four years!

Let's marvel at the wonders of our universe and our unique place in it. πŸŒπŸ’«

Did you know that over 70% of our planet is covered by oceans? These vast bodies of water are home to an estimated 50-80% of all life on Earth!

Our oceans play a crucial role in regulating the Earth's climate and are a major source of food and oxygen. Let's pledge to protect our oceans and the incredible diversity of life they support! 🌊🌍

Did you know that Earth is the only known planet to support life? Our planet's distance from the Sun, its magnetic field, and its atmospheric conditions all contribute to the existence of water and life on Earth.

Let's appreciate our unique home in the universe and strive to protect it for future generations! πŸŒπŸ’«

Did you know that the Earth rotates at a speed of 1,000 miles per hour (1,600 kilometers per hour) at the equator? Despite this high speed, it takes 24 hours for the Earth to complete one full rotation!

This is why we have day and night. As the Earth spins, different parts of the world face the Sun or away from it, creating the cycle of day and night. 🌞🌍

Did you know that trees are the longest living organisms on Earth? The oldest known tree, a Bristlecone Pine named Methuselah, is over 4,800 years old!

Trees play a crucial role in our ecosystem, providing oxygen, improving air quality, conserving water, and supporting wildlife. Let's pledge to plant more trees and protect our forests! 🌳🌍

πŸŒπŸ’‘ Eco-Facts #3πŸ’‘πŸŒ

Did you know that 70% of the Earth's surface is covered by water, but only 2.5% of it is fresh water? And of that 2.5%, just 1% is easily accessible to us.

This underscores the importance of conserving water and using it wisely. Let's pledge to save every drop! πŸ’§πŸŒ
