WHAT?!
Juhani Dimalna, the President of Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines-Kolambugan chapter, was one of the participants at the recent Local Youth Assembly Throughout the Dilaab: Northern Mindanao Coalition. The assembly, which took place on July 23, 2023, was held at Go Hotels in Iligan City.
The Local Youth Assembly brought together young leaders from various youth organizations in Northern Mindanao, including Iligan City, Misamis Occidental, and Lanao del Norte. The event aimed to foster connections and create networks and coalitions among youth leaders and organizations in the region.
The initiative, organized by Youth Leadership for Democracy (YouthLed PH), is part of a five-year program implemented by The Asia Foundation and supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The program aims to empower and engage young people in democratic processes and civic participation.
During the assembly, Juhani Dimalna had the opportunity to engage with other youth leaders from different backgrounds, such as government, academia, and civil society. Through discussions, workshops, and presentations, the participants shared their experiences, insights, and strategies on youth development, social issues, and community engagement.
The Local Youth Assembly Throughout the Dilaab provided a platform for the youth to voice their concerns, opinions, and aspirations, giving them the opportunity to contribute to the development and decision-making processes in Northern Mindanao. It also served as a venue for fostering collaboration and partnerships among stakeholders to address the challenges faced by young people in the region.
