Rooted in Care: Women Leading the Way in Mangrove Restoration
On March 28, 2026, the Inner Wheel Club of Lanao del Norte joined in a meaningful mangrove planting activity organized by the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KaLiPi) in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Kolambugan, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office.
This collaborative effort brought together a diverse group of participants, including members of the Inner Wheel Club, KaLiPi, LGU employees, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Philippine Coast Guard, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Barangay Kulasihan officials. United by a shared purpose, the group worked hand in hand to plant mangrove seedlings along the coastal areas, reinforcing their commitment to environmental protection and community resilience.
As an annual activity under the advocacies of KaLiPi, the mangrove planting initiative not only highlights the importance of preserving coastal ecosystems but also reflects the strength and leadership of women in driving sustainable community efforts. Held in line with the celebration of National Women’s Month, the activity served as a powerful reminder that when women come together, they can nurture both people and the planet.
Through simple yet impactful actions like planting mangroves, the community continues to sow seeds of hope—protecting shorelines, supporting marine life, and building a greener future for generations to come.
