With deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy, the DEA Health Board extends its sincere condolences to our Health Board Chairperson, Prof. Framer Cristy P. Mella, and the entire Mella family on the passing of their beloved mother.

In this time of grief and loss, may Godโ€™s comforting presence give strength, peace, and hope to the bereaved family. We join you in prayer as you remember and celebrate the life, love, and legacy she shared with many.

โ€œThe Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.โ€ โ€“ Psalm 34:18

Please continue to keep the Mella family in your prayers.

PERSONAL MENTAL HEALTH CARE TIPS
For Everyone Affected by the Mindanao & Cebu Earthquake

In moments of crisis, itโ€™s not only our homes and surroundings that shake โ€” our hearts and minds do too.

Here are simple Mental Health Care tips you can do for yourself and others:

1. Stay Calm.
Take slow, deep breaths. Itโ€™s okay to feel afraid โ€” grounding yourself helps you think clearly.

2. Listen and Talk.
Share your feelings with someone you trust, or be a listening ear for others. Sometimes, being heard is healing.

3. Stay Connected.
Reach out to family, friends, or your church community. Donโ€™t isolate yourself โ€” connection brings comfort.

4. Take Care of Your Body.
Eat, drink water, and rest. Your body needs strength to recover emotionally and physically.

5. Keep the Faith.
Pray, read Scripture, or reflect on Godโ€™s promises. Remember, โ€œGod is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.โ€ (Psalm 46:1)

6. Seek Help When Needed.
If sadness, fear, or sleeplessness continues for weeks, reach out to a counselor, pastor, or mental health worker. Help is a sign of strength.

Letโ€™s take care of our hearts as we rebuild our homes. Together, with faith and compassion, healing will come.

John 14:27
โ€œPeace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.โ€

Matthew 11:28
โ€œCome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.โ€
