MSMI ATHLETES DISPLAY DETERMINATION IN 2ND MAYOR'S CUP TOURNAMENT

Kapalong, Davao del Norte — Young athletes from Maryknoll School of Maniki, Incorporated (MSMI) showcased determination and sportsmanship as they competed in the 2nd Mayor's Cup Baseball Tournament, which concluded on SATURDAY, JULY 4, 2026 in Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

The tournament brought together aspiring baseball players from various teams and communities, providing them with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills, teamwork, and passion for the sport.

Representing MSMI were JOHN LAWRENCE OPINALDO, JORENZ TIMOTHY OPINALDO, CHRISTIAN CARL BOCO, MARK JAMES BARRETE, ROI ADRIEL BASMAYOR, ALEJOHN ROGER JURADA, DEN DOROTHEUS TUD, EDWARD HOPE ALICAME, ZACKARY KHALIX PENTACASE, ALVIC GIAN GUEVARA, and JOHN MADALAG.

Throughout the competition, the MSMI players displayed resilience, discipline, and teamwork in every game. Despite facing strong opponents, they remained focused and committed, giving their best effort until the final inning.

Beyond the competition, the tournament served as a valuable learning experience for the young athletes. It provided them with opportunities to enhance their baseball skills, build self-confidence, and foster camaraderie with fellow players who share the same passion for the sport.

Armed with the experience they gained from the tournament and the support from our dear teachers, the MSMI athletes are expected to continue developing their talents and proudly represent Maryknoll School of Maniki, Incorporated in future baseball competitions.

Our school was honored yesterday by a pastoral visit from Bishop Medil S. Asio, accompanied by the Board of Trustees, Students, and PTA.

We reflected on our values and reviewed the school's accomplishments. This encounter strengthened our faith, unity, and service.
