Today, Soroptimist International of Kalibo paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Shimonette P. Francisco of the Municipality of New Washington to seek the support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) for the upcoming Dream It, Be It (DIBI): Career Support for Girls program on September 3, 2026.

The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between SI Kalibo and the LGU in empowering young women through education, mentorship, and career guidance. With the support of the local government, SI Kalibo looks forward to delivering a meaningful and inspiring experience for the Grade 9 and Grade 10 learners of New Washington National Comprehensive High School who will participate in the program.

Together, we continue to invest in the dreams and future success of the next generation of young women.

Soroptimist International of Kalibo had the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to the Aklan Police Provincial Office, where we were warmly received by Provincial Human Resource Head, Major Nestor Bacuyag, in lieu of the Provincial Director.

The meeting was held in the presence of IPP Marion Pescasiosa, Chairperson of the Adopt-a-PNP Women and Child Protection Desk (WCPD) Program, underscoring our organization's commitment to strengthening partnerships that advance the welfare and protection of women and children.

The discussion was both engaging and meaningful as we shared the various programs and advocacies of Soroptimist International of Kalibo, with special emphasis on our Adopt-a-PNP Women and Child Protection Desk (WCPD) project. It reaffirmed our shared commitment to promoting the welfare, protection, and empowerment of women and children throughout the province.

Major Bacuyag expressed his sincere appreciation for the strong partnership between the Philippine National Police and Soroptimist International of Kalibo. He recognized the significance of this collaboration in advancing programs that support women and children and conveyed his optimism for its continued growth and success.

We are grateful for the warm reception and look forward to further strengthening this partnership as we continue working together to build safer, more empowered, and more compassionate communities.

📍 AKLAN PPO CONDUCTS PAGPTD SPECIAL MEETING

The Aklan Police Provincial Office (Aklan PPO) successfully conducted the Special Meeting of the Provincial Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (PAGPTD) today at Camp Pastor Martelino, Kalibo, Aklan.

The meeting was presided over by PLTCOL ARIEL N NACAR (RET.), PAGPTD Chairperson, together with the PAGPTD Members, while the Municipal Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (MAGPTD) Chairpersons participated virtually.

Invited sectoral representatives also attended and were officially inducted as new PAGPTD Members through the administration of their oath by PLTCOL BELSHAZZAR T VILLANOCHE, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration, DPDA, Aklan PPO and Technical Working Group (TWG) Chairperson.

Key agenda included the orientation of the newly inducted PAGPTD Members, updates on the Pulis Respondeng Mabilis Service Award, identification of the Evaluation Panel Board, and preparations for the upcoming MAGPTD Conference. The meeting also discussed various programs and activities aimed at strengthening collaboration between the PNP and its governance partners.

The activity reaffirmed the commitment of the Aklan PPO and its stakeholders to advancing the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030 and the Performance Governance System (PGS) through effective partnerships and good governance.
