๐พโจ Rotaract Club of Kalibo joins the celebration of culture, empowerment, and community development! โจ๐พ
In the heart of the mountains of Oyang, Libacao, history was made as the Akeanon Bukidnon Tribe celebrated its โSelebrasyon it Mga Tumandok it Oyang โ 1st Indigenous Peoplesโ Day Celebration of Oyangโ on October 31, 2025. ๐
This historic milestone is not just a cultural celebration, but a true embodiment of Community Economic Development, the Rotary theme for this year โ empowering people and transforming lives through education, livelihood, and collaboration. ๐๐ช
As part of this advocacy, the Rotaract Club of Kalibo, in collaboration with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants โ Aklan Chapter, TESDA Aklan, and DOLE Aklan, spearheaded a Financial Literacy Session and facilitated a Livelihood Program for the Association of Indigenous Peoples of Oyang (AIPOy). The financial literacy session was facilitated by Mark Anthony Dolinog, Past President of the Rotaract Club of Kalibo and current Executive Vice President of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants โ Aklan Chapter, who shared valuable insights on financial management, savings, and responsible entrepreneurship โ empowering the IP community to build a secure financial future. ๐ผ๐ฑ Following the session, TESDA Aklan and DOLE Aklan conducted a community needs assessment and consultation as part of the livelihood program development, ensuring that future interventions are relevant, sustainable, and truly responsive to the needs of the Akeanon Bukidnon community. ๐ค๐
This initiative reflects the heart of Rotaryโs mission โ where service meets sustainability, and where communities grow not only in spirit but also in opportunity. Together, we uplift, educate, and inspire lasting change. โค๏ธ
