82% TRUST: A PROMISE KEPT AND RENEWED ~ CONG. CHEDING
NEGROS OCCIDENTAL โ When the numbers showed Negros Island Region leading the nation with an 82% satisfaction rating for its lawmakers, Representative Mercedes "Chedeng" Alvarez did not celebrate it as a victory. She saw it as a heavier responsibility.
โWe are deeply grateful for the trust,โ she shared. โBut more than a number on a page, this rating is a reminder of what truly matters: to keep showing up, to keep listening, and to keep delivering service that people can actually feel.โ
For her, the figure is not a destination โ it is a mirror. It reflects the quiet work done day by day: the inquiries answered, the concerns acknowledged, the assistance brought closer to those who need it most. It is proof that being accessible matters; that being present in the barangays, in the communities, in the moments that count, builds something far stronger than any campaign promise.
โTo our constituents,โ she affirmed, โthis only strengthens our resolve. We will remain here. We will stay within reach. And we will ensure that government is not just something you hear about โ it is something you experience in your daily lives.โ
In her closing, gratitude spoke in the language of the heart: โMadamo gid nga salamat sa pagsalig โ thank you so much for your trust.โ
It is a reminder that public service is never finished. Every rating is a fresh start, every vote of confidence a renewed vow to serve as faithfully tomorrow as today.
