KABACAN, Cotabato β Nursing students from the College of Health Sciences (CHS) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) conducted a health education campaign, βSoap It to Stop It,β for Grade 7 students of Banawag High School (BHS) on March 6, 2026, promoting proper hygiene and disease prevention.
The initiative, anchored on the theme βClean Hands, Safe Communities: Stop the Spread, Start with You!β, aimed to strengthen awareness on hand hygiene as a key measure in preventing the spread of infections.
It supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 3, Good Health and Well-being, and No. 6, Clean Water and Sanitation.
During the activity, student facilitators demonstrated proper handwashing techniques and discussed the health risks associated with poor hygiene, encouraging learners to adopt consistent and effective hygiene practices in their daily routines.
The organizers extended their gratitude to the faculty and staff of BHS, led by Principal Sir Lizandro C. Camilon, and to USM-CHS Nursing Department Chairwoman Maβam April Jxeel L. Palalay, MAN, RN, for their support in the successful implementation of the program.
