On August 10, 2025, Environmental Management students participated in the Volunteer Orientation of the Green Empowered Alliance (GEA). Together with other organizations across Iloilo, we stand united against Waste-to-Energy incineration, advocate for transparency, and champion a Zero Waste Iloilo.

We believe that together, we can build a cleaner and more sustainable Iloilo.

We are still welcoming volunteers who wish to take part in community engagement, research, and policy development alongside the alliance.

🌿 July 26 | International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem 🌊
Mangroves are our natural defenders, they shield our coastlines, store carbon, and provide homes for marine life.

Sa Pilipinas, dako ang papel sang mga mangrove sa kabuhi sang mga mangunguma kag mangingisda. Pero kada tuig, ginakalbo sila. 😔

Protektahan ta ang nagaprotektar sa aton.
Bisan sa gamay nga tikang, pagtanum, pagpreserbar, kag pagpakalap sang kahibalo, makabulig kita sa pagpangapin sang mangrove ecosystems.

Simply said, what is ECOllective?

ECOllective: Used Papers as Educational Materials is an initiative that aims to champion SDG No. 4 (Quality Education) and SDG No. 13 (Climate Action). This features the transformation of used papers which are often displayed as trash and of no use by leveling up its function and purpose as educational materials for children.

This July 19, 2025, SYO team is thrilled to share this initiatives to the kindergarten students of New Lucena Central School.

Greenpeace Iloilo organized a multi-sectoral forum on the early morning of July 15, 2025. Civil society groups, student leaders, local officials, and academic institutions gathered all together to discuss localized climate solutions. The event also launched the Iloilo Community Climate Response Hub to enhance community-based climate preparedness and resiliency.
